It has a very perfumed bouquet, refined and elegant with hints of violet and blueberry tincturing the red cherry fruit. The palate is crisp on the entry, a little tighter and sharper than the nose was implying and perhaps I was expecting a little more substance on the finish. The 2014 La Conseillante has a very refined bouquet with expressive redcurrant, cranberry, rose petal and orange rind aromas that are very well defined. This seems to gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin that belies the structure underneath. There is still some new oak to be subsumed although it is totally in sync with the fruit, allowing the precision and detail to shine on the sophisticated finish. There is still some new oak to be subsumed although it is totally in sync with the fruit, allowing the precision and detail to shine on the sophisticated finish.
