Vinous (88)The 2020 Monthélie Village has a crisp raspberry coulis and wild strawberry-scented nose. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, veins of blue fruit and a little hardness towards the finish at the moment, so give this a couple more years in bottle. |

Wine Advocate (87)The 2013 Bourgogne Blanc has a captivating bouquet that seems to expand in the glass, touches of chalk and flint just behind the citrus fruit. There is no modesty here. The palate is smooth and harmonious on the entry, hints of toffee apple and almond layered over a sweet finish. Very approachable now, this is a bottle to just sit back enjoy this over the next 3 to 4 years. |

Wine Advocate (90)The 2019 Bourgogne Blanc is showing especially well, offering up aromas of pear, citrus zest, hazelnut and nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and impressively concentrated palate. Elegantly textural and fine boned, it's a serious wine that punches above its weight. |

Vinous (97)I was blown away by the power, verve and soil-driven complexity of Coche-Dury's 2001 Corton-Charlemagne. Full yellow in color, it’s approaching maturity but shows every sign of a continuing graceful evolution in bottle. Its vibrant apple, citrus peel and brown spice aromas and flavors have been joined by deeper notes of brioche, white truffle and porcini. This wonderfully tactile, plush wine boasts compelling sweetness leavened by lively acidity, and the musky, minerally, slowly building finish begs for a side of crustaceans. |

Wine Advocate (100)The utterly profound 2008 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is one of Jean-François Coche's great achievements—and though today its quality is obvious, it's interesting that Jean-François and his son Raphaël recall 2008 in its infancy as "rude, closed, austere and cold." The wine wafts from the glass with notes of green orchard fruit, white flowers, oatmeal, vanilla pod, iodine and a subtle framing of new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, its bright line of structuring acidity running through an ample but tense core of satiny texture and extract. The finish is bright, chalky and interminable. For a wine that retains all the tension and cut of a cool vintage, this Corton-Charlemagne's amplitude and power are striking. "Classic in the best sense" is Coche's understated judgment; less temperate commentators might call it perfection. |
