Memento Mori
Their fast rise can be put down to a simple combination of an 100 point winning winemaking, in the form of Sam Kaplan who become famous for his work at Arkenstone, and sourcing their Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the finest terroirs in the region. As the Wine Advocate's Joe Czerwinski confirms, the vineyards used by Memento Mori are 'some of the best in the Napa Valley', which include some of the Beckstoffer properties, plus Vine Hill Ranch, Weitz and Oakville Ranch. Overall, they craft 'terrific Napa Cabernets' that have wowed the top critics because they are 'true to the variety, their origin and the vision of their winemaker' (WA).
