Felsina got its start during a very challenging time for Italian viticulture. Founded in 1966 when Domenico Poggiali bought the estate and invested heavily in the quality of the wine and in assembling a talented, innovative young team. Felsina is at the forefront fighting against monoculture in the region and their estate includes woods, olive groves and streams, smaller fields for cultivated and wild herbs and medicinal plants like alfalfa, sorghum, millet, sunflower, field beans; all contributing to the preservation of biodiversity. The Wine is clearly the beneficiary and Felsina has built a deserved reputation for excellence in recent years, all while remaining in the hands of the Poggiali family for almost 60 years.
