Margaux

Margaux, the largest AOC in Médoc, is a significant wine appellation in Bordeaux with 20 Cru Classé properties from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, more than any other Left Bank AOCs. The region is home to the world-renowned Château Margaux, along with other blue-chip wineries like Château Palmer and Château Rauzan Ségla. Margaux's soils have a high gravel content, offering excellent drainage and low nutrient levels compared to Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe. This unique terroir produces refined and elegant wines that are distinct from other regions of Bordeaux.

We are proud to offer a diverse selection of Margaux wines, each with its own unique character and flavor profile. From the rich and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon blends to the silky and smooth Merlot-dominant wines, our Margaux wines are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. Experience the elegance and refinement of Margaux wines today. Browse our selection and discover why Margaux is considered one of the greatest wine appellations in the world.

  • Monbrison 2002 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2002

    Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (85-88)

Medium ruby. Medicinal black cherry, blueberry, mint and violet aromas. Juicy, firm-edged and primary, with a flavor of cassis. Still tightly wound and rather austere, but shows good ripeness and fruit intensity. Finishes with gripping tannins.
  • Monbrison 2005 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2005

    Wine Spectator (92-94)

Gorgeous aromas of blackberries, spices and minerals follow through to a full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a long, long finish. Supersurprising. Best in decades. Score range: 92-94
  • Monbrison 2009 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2009

    Vinous - Ian D'Agata (88-91)

Purple ruby. Open, aromatic nose is loaded with ripe red and black cherry aromas. Rich, lush and sweet, with noteworthy depth to the flavors of dark fruits, smoke and chocolate. Sexy, broad and aromatic in the middle palate, and long on the aftertaste, but this complex, very deep wine's youthfully chewy tannins call for a good decade of cellaring. This will probably be best between 2020 and 2035.
  • Monbrison 2012 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2012

    Wine Advocate (85)

Tasted blind at the Southwold 2012 tasting, the 2012 Monbrison had a light and slightly steely bouquet that nevertheless had satisfactory definition and freshness. Hopefully it will develop more fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, easy-drinking in style with a carefree, brambly finish that you could argue ought to show more ambition. Drink over the next 4-6 years. Tasted January 2016.

  • Marquis de Terme 2022 (6x150cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (94)

Based on 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2022 Château Marquis De Terme is brilliant stuff, with a richly textured, concentrated, medium to full-bodied style. Ripe darker currants, scorched earth, graphite, and lead pencil nuances all define the aromatics, and it's balanced, with a pure, layered mouthfeel and ripe tannins. It ranks with the finest vintages of this cuvée to date. Give bottles 3-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades or more.
