Based on 89% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc (with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon), the 2022 Château Peymouton reveals a healthy ruby/plum hue as well as juicy aromatics of redcurrants, black cherries, leafy tobacco, and earth. It's medium-bodied, round, lush, and as charming and delicious as I've ever tasted from this address. In Bond€192.00 -

The 2022 Château Pierre 1er presents darker cherries, leafy herbs, earth, and graphite spice. Medium-bodied and balanced, it has solid tannins, an elegant structure, and outstanding length. It should drink well for 10-12 years. In Bond€108.00 -

A split of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc coming from 17 hectares of vines on more gravelly, limestone soils, the 2022 Château Pindefleurs has beautiful aromatics of darker cherries, currants, scorched earth, and graphite, with perhaps some cedar pencil notes with air. It's medium to full-bodied, has a layered, concentrated mouthfeel, and enough tannins to keep this drinking well for 15 years. It's another best yet from this estate. In Bond€1,145.69 -

The 2022 Château Poesia is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc that's from more limestone soils brought up in a mix of barrels (50% new) and tank. It brings more elegance and finesse compared to the Château D'Arce and has beautiful black raspberry and red plum fruit intermixed with smoky tobacco, chalky minerality, and a huge floral, incense-like character. It's full-bodied, has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a beautiful finish. In Bond€341.00 -

The Puy-Blanquet 2022 exemplifies the pinnacle of fine Chilean winemaking, hailing from the illustrious Maipo Valley. Crafted by the esteemed Puy-Blanquet winery, this exceptional red blend combines meticulously selected Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Hand-harvested from sustainably managed vineyards, the grapes undergo an artisanal fermentation process in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve their pure fruit character. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, imparting elegant notes of cedar, vanilla, and subtle spice. The Puy-Blanquet 2022 presents a deep ruby colour, offering complex aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, it delivers a harmonious balance of ripe fruit, fine tannins, and a lingering, sophisticated finish. Perfectly suited to complement red meats and aged cheeses, the Puy-Blanquet 2022 stands as a testament to the producer’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship.

(6x75cl) 2022Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92-94)
The 2022 Quinault L’Enclos is wonderfully polished, but what impresses most is the wine’s balance. In most vintages, the components are evident for a young Quinault, but the 2022 inspires with a seamlessness I don’t recall seeing in the past. Perhaps that is a reflection of a blend that was done early, prior to the malolactic fermentation. Dark blue/purplish fruit, grilled herbs, lavender, spice and graphite are some of the many notes that come alive in the glass. The 2022 is a gorgeous wine and potentially one of the sleepers of this vintage. In Bond€1,132.83 -

Rocking levels of ripe black and blue fruits, spring flowers, violets, and blood orange all emerge from the 2022 Château Ripeau, a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, aged all in new barrels. It's deep purple-hued and has medium to full-bodied richness, a round, layered mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and sweet tannins. Deeper ruby-hued, the 2022 Château Rol Valentin checks in as 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Malbec, all of which spent 19 months in 40% new barrels. It's rock-solid stuff offering terrific notes of darker cherries, plums, spicy wood, and candied violet notes in a richer, medium to full-bodied, concentrated style. Made in a slightly more modern, well-oaked style, it's still pure Saint-Emilion goodness with notable minerality and ample character. Give bottles 4-5 years if you can and enjoy over the following 10-15 years. In Bond€205.00 -
