A very solid LBP with a full body and firm and juicy tannins. A little old school but it’s opulent and rather decadent with a fresh finish at the end. Shows excellent potential. In Bond€1,132.83 -

James Suckling (99-100)
A classical Lafite that reminds me of something like the 1986, with its blackcurrant and tobacco character with cedar and hazelnut, but it's so today with its purity and precision. It's really about being Lafite here. Terroir gives great elegance with strength. In Bond€4,190.00 -

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94-96)
The 2022 Le Prieuré is another magnificent wine from one of Saint-Émilion’s most under the radar properties. Dark blue/purplish fruit, gravel, spice, menthol and lavender are all finely delineated. As always, Le Prieuré is a wine of cool sophistication and finesse. Clean mineral notes extend the finish effortlessly. Superb. In Bond€1,132.83 -

Vinous - Neal Martin (92-94)
The 2022 Les Cruzelles was picked between 1 and 12 September and matured in 50% new oak. This has plenty of fruité on the nose: small red cherries, redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit, a touch of cedar in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with wonderful definition and mineralité, dark fruit, hints of black tea and spices, really harmonious and sappy on the finish. Possibly the best Les Cruzelles that I have tasted at this stage and sure to be an unbeatable value-for-money.In Bond€143.00 -

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (95)
A luxurious feel, with velvety tannins, enjoyable ripe black fruits, gourmet touches of smoked vanilla root and liqourice, all well drawn out through the palate, and providing plenty of estate signature. A well balanced luscious wien with a saline limestone twist. 3.55ph, 100% new oak. 28hl/h yield, smaller than across the rest of the Ausone range because of 50 year old vines planted almost entirely by Alain Vauthier when he arrived 1970. Harvest September 19 to 26.In Bond€173.00 -

The Wine Independent (97-99+)
The 2022 Pavie is a blend of 52% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon with a pH of 3.67. Yields were 31 hl/ha. Deep garnet-purple in color, it erupts from the glass with powerful notes of juicy blackberries, black currant pastilles, and wild blueberries, followed by classic hints of violets, licorice, red loam, wood smoke, and crushed rocks. The full-bodied palate delivers fantastic tension between the intense, muscular black fruit flavors and a lively backbone, framed by beautifully ripe, rounded tannins, finishing long and fragrant. Jeb Dunnuck (94-96)
The second wine of this terrific château is the 2022 Aromes De Pavie, an even split of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (the same blend as the 2020). It might be the greatest second wine in the vintage, displaying a classic Pavie style in its ripe red and black fruits as well as notes of camphor, chocolate, violets, and graphite. Rich and powerful, with medium to full-bodied richness, it's going to be ideal for drinking on release and over the following 15-20 years. In Bond€560.00 -
Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (98)
Creamy depths of colour and flavour, powerful damson and black cherry fruits, this is utterly compelling and beautifully concentrated. No question that the tannins are crowding in through the front of the palate, eager to make an impression, but they quickly soften and widen, and in between is air, spice, flowers, just nuanced and beautiful. The power of limestone in hot vintages on display. 3.4ph, great stuff from this 14.5ha estate, Nicolas Thienpont director. In Bond€481.00 -

James Suckling (97-98)
A very fine tannined red with a linear line running through it, which drives the whole thing. Black berry, bark and walnut character. Medium to full body with a juicy finish. Light bitter lemons and oranges. Chewy, yet the tannins are well-integrated. 100% merlot. From organically grown grapes. In Bond€1,132.83
