Vinous (90-92)
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru comes across tightly wound on the nose and requires coaxing, very flinty and with light bell pepper notes. You would almost think there is a touch of Sauvignon Blanc in the blend (there isn’t of course.) The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, though it does not quite deliver the verve or the comeliness of the preceeding Vergers and feels straightlaced on the finish. Maybe it has something up its sleeve for later?Inc. TAX€1,142.92 -

The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a kaleidoscopic nose with mineral-rich yellow fruit, chalk and apple blossom, cohering marvelously with aeration. The palate is beautifully balanced, quite powerful with real weight and density. Plenty of extract towards the finish. There is just the right amount of bitterness to keep this edgy. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.Inc. TAX€4,144.19
