About PerSe
Described by Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate) as “one of the most exciting names in Argentina”, PerSe is the passion project of Edgardo del Popolo and David Bonomi, the trailblazers on the Mendoza wine scene who spent years working at Dona Paula. A boutique project brought to life as recently as 2012, the duo had the vision to create a range of terroir-focused, Malbec-based fine wines from Uco Valley.
Crafting some seriously acclaimed wines within a handful of vintages, each of their wines is a distinct expression of a specific section of Gualtallary. In 2018, their premium bottling, La Craie 2018, has finally sealed the deal from the Wine Advocate and been cemented as the third-ever 100 pointer from Gualtallary.

Wine Advocate (96+)
The 2015 Iubileus wants to present Gualtallary through a Malbec, even though there is some Cabernet Franc co-fermented with it. It's expressive and floral, with something earthy, a mixture of red and black fruit and a gentler palate. This is from Gualtallary at 1,300 meters in altitude, from 11-year-old vines on alluvial soils where the boulders are covered with calcium carbonate. The Malbec fermented in rolling barrels and the Cabernet Franc in open-top barrels. It matured in used barriques for 16 months. It's nuanced and floral, harmonious and terribly balanced. It's powerful and concentrated but with acidity and freshness. 2015 shows the power of Malbec but only within the right context; if isolated, it would be really subtle, elegant and fragrant. This is simply superb. 1,020 bottles were filled unfiltered in September 2016.Inc. TAX€309.19 -
