Olivier Leflaive
Found in the heart of the Burgundy wine growing region, family and friends gather for the two week manual harvest at the Leflaive winery. Renowned for their Puligny-Montrachet, the Domaine had origins date back to 1905 when Olivier Leflaive was able to buy his first 25 hectares.

Vinous (94)The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a well-defined and focused bouquet. The oak initially feels loud, displaying toasty notes that admittedly marry well with the reduction, and then, magically, it coalesces and becomes more and more vivid and animated with aeration. The palate is very well balanced, and then flavors of mango, clementine and a touch of ginger reflect the precocity of the growing season. It feels a little heavy toward the finish, possibly with some botrytized fruit, but it develops precision with aeration. Very promising. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Vinous (89-91)The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru has a crisp, petrichor and green apple-scented bouquet, tight at first but opening up nicely with aeration. The palate is fresh and crisp with a subtle reduction at play, fine depth, lightly spiced with stem ginger and a dab of lemongrass towards the finish. This should drink nicely over the next decade. |
