Vinous (92-94)
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a detailed bouquet, quite intense in style, featuring expressive green apple, slate and mint aromas that become more vocal with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and what might be a touch of botrytized fruit toward the finish, though Sabine assured me there was none. In any case, this is a very well-crafted Les Referts that should age well in bottle.Inc. TAX€1,053.18 -
Vinous (86-88)
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru, which is the final vintage as the contract has run its course with the owner, lacks a little tension and mineralité on the nose - a bit flat. The palate is better with fine acidity, quite malic, yet it doesn't possess the complexity of Mollard's best Chassagnes.Inc. TAX€679.62
