La Pointe
-
Vinous - Ian D'Agata (86-88)
Dark ruby-red. Perfumed aromas of dark berries, mocha and vanilla. Big, rich and dense; starts off with lovely sweetness to its violet and black cherry flavors, then turns a bit austere and increasingly tannic at the back, finishing with a repeating floral note. The slightly tough tannins are a real shame, since they detract from what seems to be a wine of above-average density and weight in 2013.Inc. TAX€719.24 -
James Suckling (93-94)
This is a very solid La Pointe with tight and powerful tannins, backing up the ripe and dark fruit. Big, full and juicy.Inc. TAX€546.59 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (93)
The 2020 La Pointe has a well-defined, quite mineral-driven bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. Black cherries, raspberry and subtle violet scents, gaining intensity with aeration. The bottle opened at the château with Eric Monneret shows more graphite/pencil lead elements. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, linear in style, fresh with a vibrant saline finish. I appreciate the manner in which it fans out. Subtle but satisfying, this is a sophisticated Pomerol that adroitly expresses its sense of place.Inc. TAX€817.64 -
