Vinous (96)Good full deep red. Great lift and perfume to the aromas of blueberry, minerals, lilac and white pepper. Silky and utterly seamless, but with terrific sappiness and finesse to the blackberry, floral, mineral and earth flavors. Sweeter today than the Ruchottes-Chambertin; delivers an uncanny combination of gracefulness and power. The extremely long, rising finish leaves the taste buds quivering with piquant soil-driven minerality and high-pitched flowers. A classic 2010 beauty. |

Wine Advocate (97)The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, which contains 60% whole bunch, is blessed with an entrancing bouquet endowed with more darker berries than red; there are hints of sous-bois, truffle, cold limestone and wilted violets. The palate bowls you over, subtle at first à la Mugnier and then there is a wave of blackberry, bilberry and pomegranate fruit infused with wondrous mineralité and a killer, precise finish that is nigh perfection. Without question this is the finest Les Amoureuses in 2015 and it will give the lucky few three or four decades of drinking pleasure. Please invite me if you are even opening a bottle. |

Vinous (95-97)The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is matured with 25% new oak and around three-quarters whole bunch. It displays extremely fine delineation on the nose, the whole bunch more conspicuous compared to the Bonnes-Mare at the moment, though that will easily be assimilated with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a sense of strictness and linearity and potent marine influences of seaweed and oyster shells. Intense toward the finish, though I feel that the Bonnes-Mares concludes with slightly more grace and precision compared to the Amoureuses this year (at least at the moment). |

Vinous (97-99)The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a multi-dimensional nose, quite profound in terms of complexity, wonderful mineralité and tension, crystalline red fruit. The palate is full of tension and grace, an underlying salinity flooding across the finish that somehow whisks you away to a coastline, that briny note lingering on aftertaste. Profound. |

Burghound (97)(from a .40 ha parcel). Here too the ultra-fresh and beautifully perfumed nose offers up pure liqueur-like aromas of essence of red cherry that are cut with a plenitude of floral, especially rose petal and lavender, spice and exotic tea nuances that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The mouthfeel of the medium weight and overtly mineral-driven flavors is strikingly refined while delivering equally superb length on the almost painfully intense and beautifully delineated and youthfully austere finish. Sheer class and textbook Amoureuses. |

Wine Advocate (93-94)The 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras smells of ripe blackberry, raspberry, forest floor and chalk dust. A polished, creamy, yet palpably chalky and brightly fresh-fruited palate offers a sumptuous saturation of black and red fruits with inner-mouth aromatic accents of cherry pit, pistachio, flowers and citrus zest. This shows wonderful primary fruit intensity and energy, exciting length, and the promise of continued poise and polish for at least another 10-12 years. |

Vinous (93)The 2007 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has a slightly deeper hue compared to the 2000. Red berry fruit is laced with morels, pressed rose petals, leather and incense, quite complex and involving. The palate is medium-bodied with commendable depth considering the season. Pure red fruit with wonderful piquancy, hints of white pepper and clove lead towards quite a weighty and compelling finish. This surpasses my expectations and constitutes an impressive 2007 that is à point. Tasted blind at the Roumier Les Cras vertical at Medlar, London. |

Vinous (94)The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru puts in a very impressive performance alongside the 2010. With plush red fruit, red cherries intermingling with wild strawberries, this is one of Roumier's most generous Les Cras whilst it retains disarming transparency and precision. The palate is beautifully balanced with crushed stone infusing the red fruit, hints of blood orange and spices. The pixelated finish leaves you just wanting more. This might get even better with continued bottle age. Tasted blind at the Roumier Les Cras vertical at Medlar, London. |

Vinous (92)The Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras shows the more sensual, caressing side of the vintage in its layered contours and soft, tender personality. Today, the is voluptuous and expressive, with no hard edges and fabulous overall balance. The Cras isn't super complex, but it is incredibly delicious, even at this early stage. |

Tim Atkin MW (96)The higher altitude of the vineyard and its proximity to the cold air of the combe are apparent on the nose and palate of this deliciously fragrant wine. It's very chalky and chiselled with abundant minerality and freshness lifting and sustaining the fruit flavours. The slight reduction adds another dimension here. |

Vinous (94)The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has a dreamy bouquet that gushes with brambly red berry fruit, redcurrant, cranberry and, to be exact, Tiptree “Little Scarlet” strawberry jam, all beautifully defined. The palate is plush, velvety smooth, very refined with pitch perfect acidity. This Les Cras displays admirable depth, moving into more red Morello cherry and light allspice notes towards the delicate and yet persistent finish. Iron fist/velvety glove and all that... This is a brilliant Chambolle-Musigny from Christophe Roumier and it soared even higher the following day, gaining more nuance and filling out further on the finish. |

Jancis Robinson (17.5)1.75 ha (4.3 acres). Higher vineyard than most, facing south-east but cool air comes down the combe. Terres blanches, ie limestone-rich marl. Low-vigour vines here. Theirs were planted 1931, some replanted 2002. 60% whole bunch, 25% new oak. Barrel sample. Deep crimson. Fabulous nose of ripe red fruit with the perfume of peony. Perhaps also a touch of lavender from the whole bunch. Wild flowers and still so much fruit. Much tighter and more strict than Les Combottes, the tannins more upright and less smooth but still very very fine. More stony. 14.2% but you would not know. And that mineral freshness and energy is outstanding even if the wine is less approachable than some. Rich in fruit, mouth-watering in texture and that minerality gives a tight frame to the fruit. |

Burghound (94)(from a 1.75 ha parcel of vines averaging 40+ years of age). A cool, elegant and airy nose reflects notes of both red and blue pinot fruit, exotic tea and plenty of floral whiffs, particularly violet and lavender. The sleek and sophisticated medium weight flavors exude an almost palpable minerality as the mouthfeel is akin to rolling tiny pebbles around the mouth, all wrapped into dusty, palate soaking and beautifully long finale. This is outstanding though a wine that will need at least some patience. |
