Vinous (89-91)
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is a blend of purchased fruit in Les Combottes and Felettig’s own fruit from Aux Combottes next to Christophe Roumier’s parcel. Containing 40% whole bunch, this was showing a bit of reduction on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannins counterbalanced by fine acidity, a little earthiness towards the finish that maybe just needs a little more tension and energy. It will be interesting to revisit this after bottling.Inc. TAX€946.54 -
(6x75cl) 2015Wine Advocate (89-91)
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Clos le Village, picked 5 and 6 September with 20% whole bunch fruit, has a broody, introspective bouquet at first, tightly wound mulberry and blackberry fruit, a little earthy with undergrowth aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, the whole bunch not noticeable here, apart from a slight textural graininess towards the kirsch and soy-tinged finish. Whilst I prefer the Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes, this remains a fine contribution to the vintage and it should age with style.Inc. TAX€732.94 -
Wine Advocate (89-91)
The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Clos le Village lost 40% of the production, less than others due to the protection of the church that lies in close proximity. Matured in 50% new oak, it has a clean and pure bouquet with Morello cherries, raspberry preserve and a touch of vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, the oak nicely integrated here and with good substance on the finish for a village cru. Merci à l'église!Inc. TAX€284.04 -
(1x75cl) 2017Vinous (90-92)
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Clos le Village is matured in 50% new oak. Despite the small reduction, there is fine delineation on the nose, which offers black cherries, red currant jus and pressed violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet, quite candied entry; blue and red fruit dominate here. The candied and quite extrovert finish reminds me of an Amiot-Servelle style of Chambolle. Very fine.Inc. TAX€138.24 -

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Clos de Village, which comes from a 0.5-hectare of vines, had not been racked. It has a cool, tertiary, tobacco-tinged bouquet - something almost autumnal about this Chambolle. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of cracked black pepper on the entry. The 40% whole bunch here just needs more time to integrate and allow the limestone soils to show through on the finish. Fine, but it will need bottle age.Inc. TAX€430.54 -

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)
East facing on limestone. An attractive full ruby colour. Floral more than fruit driven, with a fresh limestone refinement, crunchy fruit right at the back, cherry and fresh strawberry, fine energy. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Dec 2024.Inc. TAX€109.15 -

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes is very promising, mingling notes of cherries, dark berries and plums with hints of sweet spices and coca. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it's lively and concentrated, with fine depth at the core and a long, delicately perfumed finish.Inc. TAX€381.18 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-92)
A small amount of whole bunch and a lot of sorting. The 2021 Chambolle has a rich deep purple colour with a fairly full deep dark fruit on the nose. Nothing overly weighty, a bit of grenadine alongside the dark raspberry fruit, good acidity, lively and fresh with fine persistence Drink from 2025-2030. Tasted: December 2022Inc. TAX€407.52 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-93)
One third each of whole bunches and new wood. A glowing fresh mid purple. Here we find the elegance that was lacking in the Marsannay, plus some oak which is integrating nicely. Good tension, a fresh enough acidity, dark fruit with some violets, and a long distinguished finish. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted: December 2023.Inc. TAX€407.52 -

The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges Village is a fine follow-up to the excellent 2018 rendition, bursting from the glass with notes of wild berries, orange rind, warm spices and rich soil tones. Medium-bodied, lively and precise, it's deep and concentrated, with a seamless profile and beautifully powdery tannins. Cropped at a modest 30 hectoliters per hectare, it's a cuvée that seems to go from strength to strength as yields fall.Inc. TAX€369.59 -
Vinous (87-89)
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Village, which contains 60% whole bunch, perhaps does not quite display the cohesion of the Vosne-Romanée at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a high-toned floral entry, exuberant and quite showy, though without the same breeding as the aforementioned.Inc. TAX€480.94 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)
Made from two-thirds Chaillots to one-third Lavières. 10% whole bunch. A full purple. The nose is a little less expressive than the Vosne Romanée but very typical of the appellation, plums and red berries together. There is a good depth of fruit behind, deepening further back on the palate, then a fresh finish with lively tannins and good acidity. Drink from 2026-2031. Tasted: December 2022Inc. TAX€508.54 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (90-92)
The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Village comes from two parcels, two-thirds from Les Lavières. This fragrant, Vosne-like bouquet offers pretty blueberry and black cherry fruit that seem to blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied and incorporates the 30% whole bunches with style. It is very cohesive with a sorbet-fresh, live-wire finish, leaving a dash of residual white pepper to linger in the mouth.Inc. TAX€435.34 -

The 2023 Nuits-Saint-Georges Village is one of the more primary wines in the range after a late malolactic fermentation. Offering up aromas of sweet, smoky berries, it's medium-bodied, dense and taut; but it just needs some more time in barrel.Inc. TAX€442.54 -

Unwinding in the glass with notes of wild berries, spices, orange rind and licorice, the 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village is medium-bodied, lively and concentrated, with lovely depth and length. One of the more reserved communal appellations in Felettig's cellar, I suspect it will flesh out with further élevage.
