Vinous (88)The 2008 Barolo Cannubi Riserva 1752 is a new wine from one of the best parcels within Cannubi that celebrated the first known mention of the vineyard's name on a bottle. Two thousand eight is a vintage of polished, refined Barolos and Cannubi is one of the top sites in all of Barolo. Sadly, none of that comes through in this dark, concentrated, oak-laden Barolo. Damilano has everything they need to make world-class Barolo, certainly much more than most of their neighbors, but it's time for some things to change. |
