(3x75cl) 2018Vinous (95-97)
The 2018 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from two parcels of 45- and 80-year-old vines on much stonier soils than the Charmes-Chambertin. This has a knockout nose of brambly black fruit, cassis and crushed stone aromas that gain intensity with every swirl of the glass. The palate is silky-smooth on the entry and very precise and focused, with great tension toward the shimmering vintage. This is definitely one of the best Mazoyères-Chambertins I have tasted in over ten years of coming to this domaine.Inc. TAX€2,185.43 -

Super-fresh, cool and distinctly restrained aromas include those of poached plum, the sauvage, rose petal and plenty of newly turned earth. The delicious, vibrant and more powerful larger-scaled flavors exude notably more minerality on the youthfully austere and superbly persistent finale. This beauty could also use a bit more depth, but everything is in place such that should occur. In a word, superb.Inc. TAX€682.13 -

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes has turned out especially well, to the extent that it's the best rendition of this cuvée that I can remember tasting chez Dugat-Py. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, dark berries, rose petals, incense and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and multidimensional, with terrific concentration, supple tannins and lively acids.Inc.
