Barde-Haut
Chateau Barde-Haut is an over-achieving estate in Saint-Emilion owned by Helene Garcin-Leveque (who also runs Right Bank estates, Clos L’Eglise in Pomerol and Chateau Poesia in St. Emilion). It is well loved for its generous fruit and excellent value. The new modern winery may be in stark to contrast to other Chateau in the area; it is designed to have minimal impact on the environment.

A huge nose of sweet crème de cassis, jammy blackberries, violets, leather, and dried herbs gives way to a full-bodied wine that has a great mid-palate, ripe, silky tannins, not a hard edge to be found, and a great, great finish.
