Arnoux-Lachaux
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux
Established in 1858, Arnoux-Lachaux is a family affair. Pascal Lachaux (son-in-law of the late Robert Arnoux) is the fifth generation making wine at this Domaine, which has significant grand Cru holdings. he is now working in the winery with his son Charles who has joined him after working in wine regions in New Zealand, South Africa and Oregon.
The Domaine’s wine has always been good but its quality and reputation are sharply rising. A new winery, cellar upgrade and acquisition of a parcel of the Grand Cru Latricieres Chambertin have all contributed.

Vinous (92-94)
(vinified with 80% whole clusters): Bright red. Complex aromas of red berries, spices, flowers and underbrush. Sappy and energetic, showing modest flesh but a distinctly tender quality to its flavors of redcurrant, raspberry, flowers and spices. Finishes long and floral, with a firm spine of tannins and a rocky character. Superb potential.Inc. TAX€1,014.13 -
Wine Advocate (92)
Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Corvées Pagets from Robert Arnoux has a composed and detailed bouquet with blackberry, briary and redcurrant scents, just a touch of bergamot emerging with time. There is appreciable mineralité here. The palate is well balanced with supple ripe tannin, fleshy and bold; not the only Chevillon-inspired wine here, with a velvety, caressing finish. This is an excellent, opulent take on the vineyard. Tasted November 2016.Inc. TAX€5,924.98 -
Vinous (90+)
Bright medium red. Expressive, nuanced aromas of black cherry, leather, smoke, underbrush and pepper. Juicy and firmly built, showing good stuffing but little easy sweetness. Finishes ripely tannic and lightly saline, with excellent energy and a touch of youthful austerity. These vines are now almost 60 years of age, according to Clavelier.Inc. TAX€8,441.98 -

Burghound (96)
The strikingly elegant nose offers the most complexity of these 2012s with its well-layered aromas of spice, plum, violet, dark cherry and sandalwood. There is a beguilingly velvety texture to the lightly mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess plenty of mouth coating dry extract before terminating in a firm and impeccably well-balanced finish. Note that this classy beauty will also require ample patience.Inc. TAX€13,750.38 -
Vinous (91+)
Healthy full medium red. Ripe strawberry and raspberry scents are complicated by a note of cocoa powder. Round, plush and horizontal, showing saline and herbal nuances to the red fruit and spice flavors. Not a sweet style but spreads out nicely to saturate the mouth. The tannins are dusty and ripe.Inc.
