Vinous (93+)Bright yellow. Aromas of crushed rock and cold steel dominate the nose. A pure mineral bath in the mouth, with penetrating acidity intensifying and lifting the pineapple and stone flavors. This very sharply chiseled, extremely young Caillerets finishes with a suggestion of chicken-soup reduction that reminded me of a Chablis from Vincent Dauvissat. Lay this one down. |

Vinous (92+)(4.3 grams per liter acidity): Bright, pale yellow. Restrained aromas of lemon and vanilla. At once dense and penetrating, showing an urgent Riesling-like quality and noteworthy energy to its citrus and mineral flavors. Densely packed, plush and long but youthfully backward. This seriously concentrated wine has the stuffing and structure to age but is not particularly austere today. |

Wine Advocate (91)The 2014 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Chatenière has a more reserved and laconic bouquet compared to Pierre-Yves's other 2014 Saint Aubins, more backward and requiring more cellar time. The palate is fresh and crisp, quite precise with nectarine and lemon peel notes, peach following later with a light brush of honey. This is a punter-friendly Saint Aubin and I don't intend that in a bad way - just a wine that is delicious to its core. |

Wine Advocate (87-89)The solitary white from Domaine de la Pousse d'Or, the 2014 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru le Cailleret from 0.72-hectare of vine, has a light and slightly smudged bouquet that needs a touch more nervosité. The palate is smooth on the entry, quite creamy in texture with hints of pineapple and pralines, gently rolling out to a rounded, harmonious finish. Probably earlier drinking than it deserves. |

Wine Advocate (94+)The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes is a real classic, opening in the glass with notes of mint, apple, pear and subtle noisette, deftly framed by a touch of reduction and new oak. On the palate, the wine approaches grand cru concentration and depth, with a velouté texture, lovely controlled amplitude and terrific definition and length. While this will only really begin to realize all its potential with 5 or 6 years in the cellar, I confess to having already enjoyed almost a case of this wine off wine lists in Burgundy; every bottle has been superb. |

Vinous (94)The 2014 Chablis Butteaux 1er Cru from Domaine François Raveneau is drinking beautifully, even though I am fully aware of committing infanticide. It is one of my favorite vineyards – and in my view, an underrated one – from a benchmark Chablis growing season. A stunning, razor-sharp bouquet offers limestone and petrichor aromas, and hints of walnut and shucked oyster shells develop with aeration. That fresh marine influence translates into a palate that displays exquisite balance and just a hint of toffee apple, closing in slightly toward the finish. There is so much tension and grace here. Brilliant. |

The racy, intense and intensely mineral-driven medium weight flavors possess a lovely mouth feel before culminating in a textured, balanced and saline finish that is both dry and tightly wound. |
