Vinous (91-93)The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru needed a lot of aeration before it finally graced me with its presence. There is no stem addition in this vintage as there has been in previous years. It has a very well-defined bouquet even though it feels "aloof" at the moment, presenting sous-bois-infused black fruit and traces of iodine. The palate is well balanced with a slightly lactic, licorice-tinged entry. A precocious Les Boudots in the making. There is firm structure, good grip and a countervailing sorbet-like zip on the finish. This has all the components of a very fine Nuits Saint-Georges, but it will require cellaring. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru has a very expressive bouquet with ebullient red and blue fruit combined with violet and crushed stone scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, nicely poised with quite a strict finish that indicates that this will need some bottle age. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-94)Dark purple black, full of energy, almost too much, the fruit is pretty ripe as well, some black cherry notes, balanced on the palate, some coffee to finish. Wouldn’t want it to be any riper. Always a lower acid site. 13.3% but the aromatics show that it needed to be picked. Tasted: December 2021. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (92)The 1991 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Murgers 1er Cru is fully mature on the nose with brambly red berry fruit, undergrowth, and hints of citrus peel and yuzu in the background that lend plenty of vim. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft entry. More like a 1990 in some ways, but there is fine grip, a little dryness creeping in on the back palate with tobacco notes gathering pace towards the finish. This is certainly commendable given its age. Tasted at the Méo-Camuzet dinner at Arbor in Hong Kong. |

Vinous (91-93)(14% alcohol!): Dark red with ruby tones. Deep, musky scents of black raspberry, smoke and game; very ripe but reserved. Dense, tactile and concentrated, with its raspberry, animal fur, chocolate and saline flavors communicating an impression of strong dry extract. More than enough stuffing here to support the ripe tannins. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers is showing especially well, unwinding in the glass with notes of sweet wild berries, plums, sweet soil tones and smoked meats. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, textural and concentrated, with lively acids, ripe tannins and a long, penetrating finish. Like many of Méo's 2018s, I suspect it will offer a broad drinking window. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers is showing particularly well—just like its 2018 predecessor at the same stage of its élevage. Wafting from the glass with aromas of raspberries, wild berries, rich soil tones, spices and grilled meats, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with lively acids, beautifully refined tannins and a charming, gourmand profile. |

Tim Atkin MW (94)Pick up some 2020 while you can as 11 barrels were made. In 2021, only four were made. This will need a few years to come around with its slightly drying tannins, but otherwise, this is almost ready to enjoy. The mid-palate feels satiny and tastes of black cherries and licorice. The whole package is lifted by well-placed acidity that dances across the back palate. 2024-30 |

Burghound (90-93)(from a .73 ha parcel of 40+ year old vines). A deft application of wood sets off the markedly ripe yet still nicely fresh nose of poached plum, black cherry liqueur and warm earth. As one would reasonably expect, there is better volume and density to the more powerful medium-bodied flavors that are at once rich and caressing before terminating in a palate soaking, very firm and sneaky long finish. Lovely and a wine that should be approachable after only 5-ish years yet easily reward a decade plus of cellaring |

Vinous (89-91)The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Perrières 1er Cru is under the négoce label, although Méo-Camuzet is responsible for both viticulture and winemaking. This has a clean, pure floral bouquet of blueberry and light cassis aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite compact and displaying good density. Surprisingly muscular toward the finish. Very primal and a bit burly at the moment. I would like to see just a little more elegance. |

Vinous (95-98)Good bright red-ruby. Black raspberry, cassis, violet, dark chocolate, licorice and cinnamon on the restrained but very pure nose and palate. The subtly complex palate offers compelling sweetness and early charm, making this wine much easier to taste today than the Cros Parantoux. Wonderfully pliant Richebourg, delivering an exhilarating combination of sweetness and spice. The finish saturates the entire palate, with noble tannins buried under a wave of flavor. |

Vinous (93-96)Saturated bright, deep red. Sappy black cherry, wild herbs, tea leaf and exotic spices on the complex but subdued nose. Broad, rich, deep and classically dry, with a saline character contributing to the impression of density and extract. Very complete but backward Richebourg with a lovely rising aftertaste featuring well-buffered, ripe tannins. |

Vinous (94-97)Saturated, deep red-ruby. Blackberry and cassis aromas are complicated by coffee and a subtle floral character, with some sweet oak adding another dimension. Densely packed and sappy, with an urgent quality and superb lift to the crushed dark berry fruit. A wonderfully saline, soil-driven wine with outstanding inner-mouth tension. The extremely long, slowly mounting finishes features a serious tannic backbone and outstanding vibrancy. Built for a long evolution in bottle. |

Burghound (95-98)(Don't Miss!) Here too there is enough reduction present to push the underlying fruit to the background. Otherwise there is breathtakingly good concentration to the broad-shouldered, succulent and lavishly rich flavors that also possess an almost haunting inner mouth perfume of spice and floral elements. There is superb power and buckets of dry extract and despite the imposing size and weight this remains refined and immaculately well-balanced on the massively long finale. I was knocked out by the potential this demonstrated but note well that it is a wine to buy and forget as this is going to need 20 to 30 years to reach its full apogee. |
