Vinous (90-92)The 2018 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru is deep in color and sports a more opulent and dense bouquet than the Corton-Perrières; the black cherry, cassis and violet aromas are very seductive and generous at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, quite saturated tannins, and sweet and candied in style, offering dark cherries and allspice toward the finish. Fine. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2020 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru has a little more precision on the nose than the Corton-Perrières, focused and quite energetic. The palate is medium-bodied with more strictness, quite serious with wonderful tension on the finish. This builds marvellously in the mouth. Do not overlook this excellent Corton. |

A touch of reduction or maybe the 10% stems which have been added back. This is quite severe at the back: this time the stems are to give flesh, by improving the entry on the palate. |

The wine is staying in very good shape because this vineyard always delivers a mineral crunch at the back. A lovely wine which holds its own here very well. I think the best he has made.
