The 2019 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is matured in one-third new oak (two of the total six). It has a very mineral-driven bouquet compared to the Charmes-Chambertin, tightly wound at first but opening with gusto, revealing wet limestone and almost flinty aromas. The palate is beautifully balanced with supple tannins, heightened mineralité compared to the Charmes and brilliant, spine-tingling tension on the finish.
