  • Lafleur 2017 (1x150cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (100)

I tasted many superb 2017s, but only a few that are viscerally thrilling and emotional. The 2017 Lafleur is one of a handful of wines that ascends into the stratosphere. Rich and exotically beautiful, the 2017 possesses off-the-charts intensity, tremendous aromatic depth and an impossibly long finish. A rush of dark plum, licorice, leather and mocha leaves the last impression in a wine I can only describe as: eternal. The 2017 spent about nine months in oak, 30% new. It is a towering achievement from the Guinaudeau family and their trusted associate, Omri Ram. If you can find it, buy it. And please invite me over sometime to share it with you!

  • Lafleur 2018 (1x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (100)

The Grand Vin 2018 Château Lafleur from this magical terroir checks in as 54% Cabernet Franc and 46% Merlot that comes only from the more gravelly soils of the vineyard and spent 15 months in 25% new French oak. It's as good as any wine can get and has a layered, multi-dimensional style that marries power with elegance as only this estate can do. Offering notes of black raspberries, tobacco, truffly earth, spring flowers, and chocolate, it's full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, but nevertheless is as weightless as they come, offering this "je ne sais quoi" character that's hard to describe. It's more backward and reserved than the Pensées and is going to take a decade of bottle age to hit maturity, but it's a desert Island wine if there ever was one.

  • Lafleur 2019 (1x150cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (100)

If tasting the 2019 Château Lafleur doesn't just blow you away, I'm not sure what will. A perfect wine, if such a thing exists, it offers such a complex, singular profile in its black raspberries, kirsch liqueur, licorice, exotic flowers, white truffles, and sandalwood. On the palate, it has serious structure, yet the tannins build with time in the glass, and the mid-palate density and balance are so flawlessly integrated, you have to actually hunt for the structure. Pure, sensationally rich, and at the same time elegant, with awesome depth of fruit, this is what wine dreams are made of. It might be the finest young wine to ever pass my lips. It needs a solid decade of bottle age, 15 years would be even better (it will still blow your mind any time over the coming decade), and it will evolve gracefully over the following 30-40 years.

  • Lafleur 2020 (1x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (99)

One of the wines of the vintage, but likely to prove slower evolving and more introverted than its 2019 counterpart, the 2020 Lafleur unwinds in the glass with aromas of cherries, raspberries, kirsch, black truffle, orange zest and vine smoke. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's deep and concentrated, with a tightly wound core of fruit framed by rich, powdery tannins, concluding with a long, saline finish. This is another magical bottle from an estate that just seems to do everything right.

  • Lafleur 2022 (3x150cl)
    (3x150cl) 2022

    The Wine Cellar Insider (100)

Blackberries, boysenberries, black raspberries, chocolate, cherries, liqueur, and a cornucopia of floral aromas build with each swirl and sniff. The palate offers intensity, opulence, power, depth, and viscosity. The levels of depth and concentration are off the charts, leaving you with an unctuous, seamless finish that leaves the 60-second mark in the rearview mirror. Like all great Lafleur vintages, this has almost unlimited aging potential, yet the wine can be enjoyed after about 5 years of bottle age. The wine blends 51% Cabernet Franc and 49% Merlot. 14.5% ABV.
  • Lafleur-Gazin 2010 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2010

    Jeb Dunnuck (94)

The 2010 Château Lafleur-Gazin is showing beautifully, with a plush, layered, concentrated style that has some evolution while bringing ample fruit and freshness. Black cherries, saddle leather, graphite, leafy herbs, and floral notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a deep, layered mid-palate, ripe and still present tannins, and a great finish. It's in the early stages of its prime drinking window and has another two decades of longevity. Drink 2025-2045.
  • Lafleur-Gazin 2016 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2016

    Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (92)

Creamy blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, raspberry puree, white pepper spîce, cumin and baking spice, smoky tannins, a little abrupt on the finish.
  • Lafleur-Gazin 2017 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2017

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)

The 2017 Lafleur-Gazin is plump, juicy and wonderfully inviting in 2017. Cedar, pipe tobacco, cinnamon and dried flowers add lovely top notes to the bright, red-toned fruit in this mid-weight, gracious Pomerol. Best of all, the 2017 can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. This is a very pretty, gracious wine.
  • Lafleur-Gazin 2021 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2021

    Jeb Dunnuck (90-92)

The 2021 Château LaFleur-Gazin should be outstanding, offering a medium-bodied, charming, mid-weight style as well as pretty aromatics. Notes of cassis and black raspberries, subtle oak, and some spice all define this forward, enjoyable, balanced 2021 that will drink nicely right out of the gate.

    (12x75cl) 2005

    Wine Advocate (91)

Dense ruby/purple and still youthful and exuberant, with oodles of cassis and incense, the 2005 Lafon-Rochet is medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannin and a long finish. Just becoming approachable, this wine should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years.
  • Lafon-Rochet 2009 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2009

    Jancis Robinson (17)

63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Started organic viticulture and moving towards biodynamics – but still not certified. Very deep crimson. Exotic and polished nose. Inky and sweet and rather gorgeous. Lots of energy here. Good tannin quality. Long and opulent. Not the most characteristic of the appellation but lots of pleasure.
  • Lafon-Rochet 2015 (1x600cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (94)

The 2015 Lafon-Rochet has a lively, floral bouquet that opens enthusiastically with aeration to reveal blackberry, melted tar and just a touch of black truffle mixed with cigar box. The palate is medium-bodied, taut, fresh and saline, with pliant tannins and a composed, relatively fleshy finish. This is worth investigating and arguably the best value you can find on the Left Bank in this vintage. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.

  • Lafon-Rochet 2005 (12x75cl)
