Tertre de la Mouleyre 2021 exemplifies the pinnacle of Bordeaux craftsmanship, meticulously crafted in the esteemed Médoc region. Handpicked Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from sustainably managed vineyards undergo traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, ensuring the preservation of their nuanced flavours. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, imparting elegant tannins and a harmonious complexity. Produced by Château Mouleyre, a family-owned estate with a legacy spanning over three generations, Tertre de la Mouleyre 2021 showcases a deep ruby hue with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, and subtle spice. On the palate, it delivers a balanced structure, refined acidity, and a lingering finish, making it a distinguished choice for connoisseurs seeking both elegance and depth. This vintage not only highlights the meticulous vineyard practices but also the unwavering commitment to quality that Château Mouleyre is renowned for worldwide. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (95)The 2021 Tertre-Rôteboeuf is a dark, sensual wine. Deceptive in its mid-weight feel, the 2021 is wonderfully persistent and nuanced from start to finish. Kirsch, sweet spice, tobacco, mint, dried flowers, mocha, rose petal and cinnamon are all beautifully delineated. The 2021 was bottled just a few months before this tasting. My impression is that it is still recovering from bottle shock. As always, Tertre-Rôteboeuf is distinguished by its thrilling inner perfume, sweetness and overall character. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (95-97)The 2021 Troplong Mondot is shockingly raw and untamed, but in the very best sense of those terms. A wine of energy and pure power, the 2021 is going to need a number of years to be at its best, but it is certainly very impressive in the early going. The 2021 clocks in at 13.5%, which has not been seen here since the 1990s. The 2021 is not an easy wine to taste at this stage, as it is not fully formed. I won't be surprised if the 2021 turns out even better than this note suggests. It is a dazzling wine by any measure, and a far cry from the wines of decade ago, when the malolactic fermentations were often not finished when en primeur samples were presented! Superb. |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (96)One of the most successful wines of the vintage. Welcoming aromatics, carefully handled, creamy raspberry and blackberry fruits, gentle toasted pine nuts and cigar box smoke. You still get the lemongrass, slate tannins and acidites that are so signature to 2021, but also a sense of pull-and-push movement of the fleshy but fresh fruits through the palate, and hidden power. Good stuff. This is a vintage where you need the warm hug of a softly smoked oak barrel, and Thunevin knows how to administer it. 29hl/h yield, 3.5ph. |

With medium-bodied richness, a focused, chiseled texture, and a gorgeous finish, it does everything right. It has bright acidity and rock-solid concentration and will benefit from a year or three in the cellar and have a decade or more of longevity. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (98)The 2021 Vieux Château Certan may very well be the wine of the vintage on the Right Bank. Intensely aromatic and nuanced, with exceptional balance, the 2021 is super-classy right out of the gate. All the elements are so well proportioned. Readers should plan on cellaring this beauty for at least another handful of years. |

Jeb Dunnuck (96)The 2021 Château Valandraud Blanc is brilliant stuff and offers a gorgeous perfume of honeyed limes, mint, spicy herbs, and just a kiss of background oak. |

Naturally, it doesn't have the richness or density of most prior vintages, but it more than makes up for that with its sublime harmony and overall freshness. All the elements are so well proportioned. Readers should plan on cellaring this beauty for at least another handful of years. |

Jeb Dunnuck (93)Coming from vines just around the next château, the 2021 Vieux Château Mazerat is 90% Merlot (which is more Merlot than usual) and 10% Cabernet Franc that was brought up in 80% new oak. It's a gorgeous wine that has notes of ripe red and black fruits mixed with camphor, leather, and spicy tobacco in a medium-bodied, elegant, finesse-driven style that carries lots of minerality. |

Vinous (95)The 2021 Villemaurine is a wine of pure and total sensuality. Crushed rose petal, cinnamon, new leather, spice and tobacco are beautifully delineated. The 2021 is rich and heady, but also full of intrigue. This Villemaurine is not an obvious wine, as it can be, but it’s all there. Bright acids add salivating intensity on the long finish. Tasted two times. |

Jeb Dunnuck (91)The second wine of Château Valandraud, the 2021 Virginie De Valandraud is worth seeking out. Ripe red and black fruits, violets, flowers, and a hint of new leather define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a pure, elegant mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and supple tannins. It's an outstanding 2021 to drink over the coming decade or so. |
