Vinous - Neal Martin (86)The 2017 Linot has a well defined bouquet, not intense but endowed with pretty blackberry and redcurrant aromas. The palate is supple and lithe, not deep with fleshy red cherry and strawberry fruit that is tinged with vanilla on the finish. Fine. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (89-91)The 2020 Lions de Batailley has a tightly wound bouquet with blackberry, cedar and light cigar box aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with graphite tinged black fruit on the entry, fine weight, quite sweet towards the finish whilst retaining Pauillac-like structure. This is a thoroughly decent Deuxième Vin. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90)A powerful, deep wine, the 2014 Louis exudes richness. Dark stone fruit, leather, licorice, tobacco, cedar and smoke, along with a good dose of French oak, are some of the accents that give the 2014 its distinctive personality. The wine is racy and intense, and I would prefer to drink it over the next decade or so. The blend is 90 % Merlot and 10 % Cabernet Franc. |

Wine Advocate (99)One of the all-time great vintages for this château is the 1989 Lynch-Bages, a striking wine that offers up pure and intense aromas of cassis, pencil shavings, spring flowers and hints of cigar wrapper. Full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's seamless and concentrated, with a rich core of fruit, ripe tannins and a beautifully defined finish. Still an infant at age 32, it surpasses all three of Pauillac's first growths in 1989. |
