Decanter (93)
One of the great value (everything's relative of course) wines of the Médoc, with brilliant work being done by Christophe Labenne and Matheiu Cuvelier of Clos Fourtet. Great Médoc character, full of mint and charcoal and a clear build up of power through the palate. This is rich and spicy with lovely rippling tannins and great depth to the autumnal berry fruit . A classic Poujeaux that will age well but there is no need to wait beyond six to eight years to start drinking this. A real success. Planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and an equal 5% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.Inc. TAX€712.42 -
James Suckling (94-95)

(6x75cl) 2023
Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (93)
Always an estate that works hard and is often a good bet across a variety of vintage conditions. It works again in 2023, prety austere right now, layers of tannic architecture along with signature mint leaf and cigar box. No question this will age, don't rush it, needs time to unwind, feels like an impressive Left Bank claret full of classic character, and confident tannic architecture. High propotion of Petit Verdot, 33% new oak for ageing, 38hl/ha yields, after hail on a small prt of the vineyard.Expected Price Range€114 - €136
