James Suckling (98)Beautiful aromas of lime curd, dried pear, grilled white peach and flint on the nose. So exotic on the nose. Some cream and honey, too. It’s medium-bodied with bright, tangy acidity. Creamy and focused with lingering dried-citrus and crushed-gravel notes. Long. Drink or hold. |

Jeb Dunnuck (100)One of the whites of the vintage, the 2020 Château Pape Clément Blanc is based on 62% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon, 4% Sauvignon Gris, and the remaining 1% Muscadelle, all of which was raised in a mix of new and used oak. This beauty stopped me in my tracks and offers a massive nose of honeyed limes, white flowers, tropical fruit, crushed stone, and orange marmalade. With the vintage’s vibrant sense of freshness, full-bodied richness, a stacked mid-palate, and a fabulous mouthfeel, this truly sensational white is an incredible achievement, and hats off to the team at Pape Clement! Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades or so. |

James Suckling (96-97)Dense and tight with a solid core of sliced Meyer lemon, lime and green apple. It’s full and very compact with a phenolic texture that runs the length of the wine. Slightly chewy, yet, it’s long and persistent with a mineral and bitter citrus undertone at the end. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90)The 2015 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is a gorgeous second wine from Clerc-Milon. Forward and supple, the 2015 fleshes out in the glass with lovely density and volume. Ripe plum, blueberry, menthol and spice notes give the 2015 much of its seductive personality. Clerc-Milon releases the Pastourelle with some bottle age, when it is ready to drink, with the goal of arriving at a wine list in $100/bottle range. The 2015 is flat-out delicious. The blend is 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. |

Jeb Dunnuck (90)Mostly Merlot and the second wine of the estate, the 2017 Pastourelle De Clerc Milon is a pleasure-bent, plush, delicious 2017 that has ripe black cherry and currant fruits as well as classic notes of damp earth, lead pencil, and toasted spice. Playing in the medium-bodied end of the spectrum, with ripe tannins and loads of charm, it's going to drink nicely for over a decade. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (89-91)The 2020 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is soft, supple and inviting, all of which will make it an absolute charmer when it is released in a few years' time. Sweet red cherry and plum fruit are pushed forward. As always, it’s Merlot-based; this vintage has a bit more Cabernet than usual, but that won't be an issue once in bottle. In the past, Pastourelle was shown en primeur, but sold only in bottle, a few years after the vintage, when the team deemed it ready to drink. This is the first vintage that will be offered as futures. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90-92)The 2021 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is bold, fruity and delicious. Inky dark fruit, sweet spice, lavender and mocha are front and center. This charming, supple Pauillac will drink beautifully upon release. There's a bit more Merlot in this year's blend, and that really comes through in the wine' open-knit personality. |

Jeb Dunnuck (93)Violets, cassis, ripe black cherries, and graphite all emerge from the 2022 Pastourelle De Clerc Milon, a ripe, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and lively second wine that has tons to love. As with the Grand Vin, it's undeniably one of the best examples of this cuvée to date. It will keep for two decades if well stored. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2016 Patache d’Aux has a lovely, joyful bouquet with raspberry and wild strawberry, tinged with mint and light cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, well balanced with much more poise than many of its Cru Bourgeois peers. This is a classy offering from Patache d’Aux. Excellent. Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)The 2019 Paveil de Luze is bursting at the seams with super-ripe dark red fruit, kirsch, blood orange, rose petal and spice. There's good freshness to play off some of the more exotic flavors. This is an especially racy Margaux with tons of character. The 2019 is impressive, just as it was from barrel. |
