A blend of 85% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Chateau Sansonnet is another beautiful wine from the talented Marie-Benedicte Lefevere. With loads of creme de cassis and black raspberry fruit as well as notes of leafy herbs, flowers, and spicy oak, it hits the palate with medium to full body, a beautiful sense of elegance and purity, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It doesn't have the density or breadth of the 2016, but it’s a remarkable wine in the vintage. A blend of 85% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in new oak, it’s going to evolve gracefully for 20-25 years or more.Inc. TAX€234.17 -

This estate has been on fire of late and that doesn't appear to have changed with the 2018 Château Sansonnet. Revealing a dense purple hue as well as a young, unevolved bouquet of pure crème de cassis, graphite, crushed violets, bouquet garni, chocolate, and distinct chalky minerality, it delivers remarkable purity, full-bodied richness, silky tannins, and flawless balance. A wine that builds slowly with time in the glass, offering a beautiful mix of richness, elegance, and length, it's as good, if not even better than the 2016. Don't miss it!Inc. TAX€515.95 -

Another beautiful wine from the Lefévère family that does everything right, the 2019 Château Sansonnet has a textbook Saint-Emilion bouquet of chalky minerality, ripe red and black fruits, notes of truffle and flowers, medium to full body, and beautiful overall balance. In the past, this wine has had a glossy, slightly modern style (in a good sense), but the 2019 has an incredibly classic feel with its oak nicely integrated and just a liquid rock-like minerality on the finish. It's a gorgeous wine that will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for over two decades.Inc. TAX€286.79 -
