Margaux
Margaux, the largest AOC in Médoc, is a significant wine appellation in Bordeaux with 20 Cru Classé properties from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, more than any other Left Bank AOCs. The region is home to the world-renowned Château Margaux, along with other blue-chip wineries like Château Palmer and Château Rauzan Ségla. Margaux's soils have a high gravel content, offering excellent drainage and low nutrient levels compared to Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe. This unique terroir produces refined and elegant wines that are distinct from other regions of Bordeaux.
We are proud to offer a diverse selection of Margaux wines, each with its own unique character and flavor profile. From the rich and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon blends to the silky and smooth Merlot-dominant wines, our Margaux wines are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. Experience the elegance and refinement of Margaux wines today. Browse our selection and discover why Margaux is considered one of the greatest wine appellations in the world.

Jeb Dunnuck (93)The 2015 Château Monbrison is a smokin’ good Margaux to seek out. With a deep ruby/purple color and terrific notes of caramelized cherries, currants, bay leaf, and toasty oak, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, fine, polished tannin, plenty of freshness, and a rich, yet undeniably elegant personality. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (89-92)The 2016 Monbrison is delicious. Aromatic, pliant and impeccably balanced, the wine is quite harmonious from the first taste. There is lovely depth and purity throughout. Sweet tobacco, herbs, mint and licorice add aromatic nuance to the racy red fruit. I imagine the 2016 will drink well with minimal cellaring. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92-94)The 2020 Monbrison is a beautiful wine. Savory and pungent in the glass, the 2020 exudes terrific aromatic intensity, with plenty of floral, spice, black pepper and dried herbs. The 2020 is vibrant and maybe just a bit firm, but not in an unpleasant way. Monbrison is a wine that demands the taster's attention. It certainly has mine. |

Jeb Dunnuck (93)Smoky red and black fruits, spicy wood, tobacco, and incense notes emerge from the 2022 Château Monbrison, a classy, complete, medium to full-bodied Margaux. I love its overall balance, and it has plenty of mid-palate depth as well as polished tannins. Based on 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in barrel, give it 3-5 years and enjoy over the following 15+. |

James Suckling (95)What a wine. It was almost Burgundian at first with its floral and strawberry aromas and flavors. There were roses and lilacs as well. This is always an elegant and classy bottle. Full body, with a balanced tannin structure that is ultra-refined. It caresses every inch of your palate. Such class. This is a wine that should be decanted and drunk immediately. |

Wine Enthusiast (94)With its usual high proportion of Merlot, Palmer 2003 was always going to be a generous, very ripe wine. And so it is proving, but what is so satisfying about the wine at this stage is that the great sweet fruit, which comes right out of the glass. Underneath, of course, there are tannins, so this wine could be drunk soon, and then aged for another 15 years. Imported by Diageo Chateau & Estates. |
