Vinous (93)

The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru conveys the imprimatur of the growing season more than Leflaive's other cuvées, the ripest and perhaps more exotic with candied orange peel, quince and light peppermint scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity, ripe and quite bold in style, though it clams up towards its slightly reductive finish. Give this four to five years in bottle.

Burghound (94-96)

(Don't Miss! Outstanding) Firm reduction and a whiff of oak dominate the nose at present. Much more interesting are the beautifully textured, racy and detailed medium weight flavors that also possess a highly sophisticated mouthfeel while exhibiting stunningly good length on the bitter zest-inflected finish that goes on and on. This is terrific and easily delivers grand cru quality.

Vinous (88-90)

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a taut, crisp bouquet with scents of wet limestone, sea spray and green apple. There is fine delineation here, and more intensity than I was anticipating for a Village Cru. The palate is well balanced with subtle passion fruit and citrus notes on the entry, good weight in the mouth and fine acidity, though not as complex on the finish as other Village Crus I have tasted from Leflaive. Therefore I suspect this will be ideal for early drinking.

Vinous (91)

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Village, matured in 15% new oak, has an intense bouquet with cold flint and sea cave aromas that you would guess come from a much cooler growing season. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a touch of bitter lemon and a dab of spice towards the cohesive and quite persistent finish. Very long. Closure: Diam 30

Burghound (90-92)

Outstanding. A markedly more floral-suffused nose features notes of cool Granny Smith apple, citrus and a touch of mineral reduction. The caressing, delicious and plump but agreeably energetic medium-bodied flavors possess solid depth and persistence on the balanced, firm and highly refreshing finale. This is also excellent for its level and a wine that should drink well after only 3 to 4 years of keeping but age gracefully for a decade. Recommended.

Discover the exquisite Lejeune Pommard Arguillieres 2010, a testament to Burgundy’s esteemed terroir. Crafted by Domaine Lejeune, renowned for their meticulous vineyard practices, this Pinot Noir hails from the heart of Pommard’s Arguillieres vineyard. Handpicked from biodynamically managed vines, the grapes undergo a gentle fermentation process in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving their pure expression. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, the wine develops a harmonious balance of rich tannins and vibrant acidity. On the palate, it unveils layers of dark cherry, plum, and subtle earthy undertones, culminating in a long, elegant finish. The 2010 vintage benefits from a favourable climate, resulting in exceptional concentration and complexity. Ideal for pairing with roasted game or aged cheeses, Lejeune Pommard Arguillieres 2010 exemplifies the artistry and dedication of its producers, making it a prized addition to any fine wine collection.
