Good bright, deep red. Black raspberry, maraschino cherry and a whiff of meat on the compelling nose. Thick, tactile and utterly smooth on the palate, but with real energy and mineral lift to the flavors of dark fruits, mint and wild herbs. Finishes with serious tannic clout but has the stuffing to support it. This impressively vibrant wine should reward eight to ten years of cellaring.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a gorgeous bouquet, a mélange of red and black fruit and more sous-bois aromas than the En Orveaux; touches of sage and pressed flowers emerge with time, adding more and more complexity. The medium-bodied palate offers sappy red fruit and gentle grip in the mouth. Quite structured for a Les Suchots, with a stunning, lightly spiced, energetic finish that has more vivacity than it knows what to do with. Fabulous.

Outstanding) Once again, the nose is wonderfully spicy with its very Vosne aromas of anise, clove, soy, hoisin and sandalwood wisps that add serious breadth to the ripe and liqueur-like black fruit scents. The lavishly rich and opulent larger-scaled flavors coat the palate with an abundance of dry extract that gives the mouthfeel an almost viscous feel, all wrapped in a moderately powerful, serious and hugely long finish. This is a flat out exceptional Suchots and worth a special effort to find.

Bright medium ruby. Dark berries and flowers on the nose. Supple and silky in the style of the year, with fine-grained berry and mineral flavors lifted by a floral component. Finishes with good spine and perfume.

The 2012 Vosne-Romanée is beautifully lifted and precise in the glass. Sweet red berries, rose petals, mint and spices are some of the many notes that inform this drop-dead gorgeous, racy village-level Vosne. There is a sense of purity and precision in the 2012 that is impossible to miss. What a pretty wine this is.

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village has an exquisite, pure red cherry and wild strawberry scented bouquet. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin, slightly confit in style, hints of blood orange and vanilla towards the enticing finish. Excellent, but very seductive. Tasted at the Domaine.

The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, and quite dense for a Village Cru, leading into a sappy, quite serious finish. It will need 3–5 years in bottle.
