Wine Advocate (96)Sourced from 70-year-old Pinot Noir vines planted on a north-facing mid-slope site, the NV Extra-Brut Les Grandes Côtes is composed equally of the 2020 vintage and reserve wines drawn from the 2011–2019 perpetual reserve. The bouquet is profound, redolent of dark cherry, orange zest, pear, pastry and peeled almond. Full-bodied yet impeccably proportioned, it is at once ample and elegantly muscular, with a fleshy fruit core, bright structuring acidity and a precise, delicately perfumed and enduring finish. For those acquainted with the topography of the Côte des Bar, this parcel lies immediately adjacent to Cédric Bouchard’s Le Creux d’Enfer. |
