I tasted this wine twice over the course of six months, in advance of its commercial release. The 2016 Pàtrimo is quite a wine and needs all the extra bottle time it can get. Indeed, I would suggest putting it at the back of your cellar for another 5 years (at least). It opens to a black and impenetrable appearance. This is an elaborate and beautifully constructed wine that is put together piece by piece like a jigsaw puzzle. When viewed as a whole, all those tiny pieces create a beautiful portrait of a grape as the protagonist and of a region as its context. The only question is how long the tannins will need to soften. Today, the Feytit-Clinet is a bruiser. But that doesn't stop it from being both compelling and drop-dead gorgeous. Deep ruby/purple, with notes of plum, blackcurrant, black cherry, incense and camphor, the wine shows surprising depth, a reasonably broad, succulent mouthfeel and a luscious, impressive finish. The vineyard covers just over six hectares situated between Trotanoy and Latour A Pomerol, in the Clinet sector of the Pomerol appellation. The 2017 Chateau Feytit-Clinet is mostly Merlot (there’s 7% Cabernet Franc) that spent 16 months in 65% new French oak. It’s never a shy wine, and the 2017 offers loads of ripe black fruits, lavender, orange blossom, and exotic floral and violet aromatics. These carry to a full-bodied Pomerol that has a mouthfilling, expansive texture, ripe, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It offers more fruit, opulence, and sexiness than just about every wine in the vintage. It’s already hard to resist yet will benefit from 5-7 years of bottle age and cruise for two decades.Inc. Sporting a deep purple/blue color as well as a massive bouquet of blackberries, smoked herbs, liquid violets, and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a weightless, seamless texture, thrilling purity, and a great, great finish. Grapes for this vintage, 100% Melon de Bourgogne, were harvested manually to ensure maximum fruit integrity. Post-harvest, the juice resides on its lees for nine months, developing depth, rounded mouth-feel and subtle, yeasty notes - a characteristic trait of ‘sur Lie’ wines.
Fessardiere Muscadet Sevre et Maine sur Lie Coup de Foudre 2015 is an elegant bright yellow wine. Expressive hints of grapefruit and apple envelope the senses while limestone-induced minerality provides an engaging finish. A sophisticated choice for discerning palates.

I tasted this wine twice over the course of six months, in advance of its commercial release. The 2016 Pàtrimo is quite a wine and needs all the extra bottle time it can get. Indeed, I would suggest putting it at the back of your cellar for another 5 years (at least). It opens to a black and impenetrable appearance. This is an elaborate and beautifully constructed wine that is put together piece by piece like a jigsaw puzzle. When viewed as a whole, all those tiny pieces create a beautiful portrait of a grape as the protagonist and of a region as its context. The 2012 Feytit-Clinet is one of the more massive, structured Pomerols of the year. Inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, violets, mint, sage, chocolate, lavender, smoke and tobacco fill out the wine's ample, large-scaled frame with aplomb. There is no shortage of power or intensity. The only question is how long the tannins will need to soften. Today, the Feytit-Clinet is a bruiser. But that doesn't stop it from being both compelling and drop-dead gorgeous. An unquestionable star of the vintage, this 18-acre vineyard is near Trotanoy, Latour a Pomerol and Clinet. The wine is made from 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Only 50% of the production made it into the Grand Vin label. Surprisingly it sports a lofty 13.4% natural alcohol. Deep ruby/purple, with notes of plum, blackcurrant, black cherry, incense and camphor, the wine shows surprising depth, a reasonably broad, succulent mouthfeel and a luscious, impressive finish. I love this tiny Pomerol estate, which is brilliantly run by Jeremy Chasseuil. The vineyard covers just over six hectares situated between Trotanoy and Latour A Pomerol, in the Clinet sector of the Pomerol appellation. The 2017 Chateau Feytit-Clinet is mostly Merlot (there’s 7% Cabernet Franc) that spent 16 months in 65% new French oak. It’s never a shy wine, and the 2017 offers loads of ripe black fruits, lavender, orange blossom, and exotic floral and violet aromatics. These carry to a full-bodied Pomerol that has a mouthfilling, expansive texture, ripe, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It offers more fruit, opulence, and sexiness than just about every wine in the vintage. Sporting a deep purple/blue color as well as a massive bouquet of blackberries, smoked herbs, liquid violets, and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a weightless, seamless texture, thrilling purity, and a great, great finish.
