(6x75cl) 2012Vinous (92)
The 2012 Morey St. Denis 1er Cru is quite a bit more refined than the village bottling. Floral and spiced at the outset, but with plenty of underlying minerality, the 2012 is very expressive today. Crushed rocks, spices, flowers and a hint of citrus add nuance on the exotic finish.Inc. TAX€3,130.54 -
(6x75cl) 2013Vinous (90-92)
A deep, pungent wine, the 2013 Morey St. Denis 1er Cru shows the wilder side of the village. Game, smoke, licorice, tobacco and incense are pushed forward in a textured, energetic Burgundy that appears to have a bright future. The Morey 1er Cru is a blend of fruit from Ruchots, Clos Sorbé, Millandes and Charrières.Inc. TAX€1,866.72 -
(6x75cl) 2014Wine Advocate (94)
Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru from Dujac was one of the talking points of the tasting. It performed extremely well compared to its peers (note that this is a domaine bottling and not Dujac Fils & Père). It has quite an intense bouquet with signs of some whole bunch addition but backed with plenty of dark red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with good body and substance, well-judged acidity, perhaps with the whole bunch defining the wine more than the terroir at this early juncture, although that will not always be the case. Give this time in bottle if you want the birthplace of this wine to express itself. Dujac lovers should have some of this in their cellars—very, very impressive. Tasted September 2017.Inc. TAX€2,524.60 -
(1x75cl) 2017Vinous (94)
The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is showing a little reduction on the nose; there’s some charry oak here, not quite as clean as its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine balance and finer tannins than Taupenot-Merme's La Riotte. This shows impressive delineation and elegance toward the finish, which is persistent and satisfying. An excellent Morey-Saint-Denis. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.Inc. TAX€359.33 -

The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru has a feisty tart nose with kirsch and blood orange, initially not speaking of its appellation though that does evolve with aeration as it gains personality. The palate has a bitter entry, hard and rather coarse tannins, very drying towards the finish. Not sure about the future of this Morey - will it knit together? It will go either way. The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru shows more overt whole bunch influence compared to the preceding Chambolle-Village, touches of tea leaf infusing the black cherry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity, very harmonious and with fine salinity towards the elegant finish. Understated and refined.Inc. TAX€298.28 -

From the usual four vineyards. Deep crimson. The bouquet has quite an elegant style even if the individual fruits are not yet quite with us. Quite a firm structure behind but sitting well with the deep red fruit. Balanced and stylish, with good ageing potential. Drink from 2031-2038. Tasted: November 2023.Inc. TAX€1,610.63 -

Bright, deep red-ruby. Briary black raspberry, smoke and mocha on the musky nose. Dense, musky and sweet, with a hint of malic acidity giving an edge to the black raspberry, mineral and chocolate flavors. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins. This cuvee got a total of just two pigeages, as the fruit needed a gentle extraction owing to some drought stress, according to Jeremy Seysses.Inc. TAX€529.15 -

Offers lovely sweetness and breadth for a 2014 village wine, with brown spices dominating the palate. Has the stuffing to buffer its tannins and finishes with very good spicy length.Inc. TAX€401.84 -
