This is a very decadent Brunello with dried stems, charcuterie, bay leaf, Thai basil and earth. Full-bodied and dense, the deeply interlocked layers of dark fruit nearly tripping over the ropey, chewy tannin structure. Drink from 2026.Inc. TAX€296.39 -

Caprili's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino is endowed with serious depth. Juicy and expressive, the 2008 offers up plums, black cherries, tobacco, smoke and licorice nuances. The balance of fruit, tannin and acidity is simply terrific. I imagine the 2008 will be even better in another year or two, but it is already pretty delicious.Inc. TAX€452.27 -

The 2020 Barolo Rupestris is an elegant, sculpted wine. It shows the mid-weight structure of the year nicely. Sweet red cherry fruit, mint, chalk, white pepper, orange peel and dried flowers open with some coaxing. I would leave this alone in the cellar for a few years, as time in bottle is essential here. I won't be surprised if this fills out a bit over the coming years, as is often the case here. Many years ago Baldo Cappellano asked me not to score his wines, so all Cappellano wines show up on our database as NR.Inc. TAX€1,407.59 -
