The 2007 Barolo Le Brunate is a dark, seductive wine loaded with vibrant dark fruit. The wine needs quite a bit of time in the glass to find its center, but over time the fruit becomes expressive and darker, mentholated notes begin to emerge, adding complexity. As delicious as this is, it doesn't quite reach the level of the 2006. There appears to be just a hint of newer cask here as well, but I don't think that is too big of an issue. Born from the Nebbiolo vines in the impeccable Cannubi region of Piedmont, Italy, this exquisite wine is noteworthy for its delicate, elegant character. The grapes undergo traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks, for an extended skin maceration of 20-30 days, ageing in Slavonian oak barrels for veil maturing, giving the wine its intricate flavours. Beautifully layered and nuanced, it imparts a burst of dark cherry, liquorice, menthol and spice on the palate with a firm but well-integrated tannin finish. Flawlessly balancing power and finesse, this wine epitomises the richness of the Cannubi terroir. The 2010 vintage is a testament to the meticulously crafted wines from the family vineyard, stamping the wine heritage of Francesco Rinaldi e Figli. Francesco Versio’s 2017 Barbaresco is a total knock-out. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, kirsch, dried herbs and star anise soar out of the glass. Translucent and deeply textured, the 2017 possesses terrific balance and tons of personality. It is a wine of exotic perfume and striking inner sweetness that captures the flamboyant style of the year while remaining very much medium in body. This is an impressive showing from a young grower who really seems to be coming into his own.In Bond€524.00 -

The 2019 Barbera d'Alba is a fabulous every-day wine. Floral aromatics and red berry fruit grace this airy yet flavorful Barbera from Fratelli Alessandria. The 2019 is not a powerhouse, but it is supremely delicious and very easy to like.In Bond€207.00 -

I just love the 2013 Barolo by Fratelli Alessandria. The wine is tame and subtle yet powerful at the same time. It starts off with classic aromas of wild berry, smoke, tar and licorice. Those tones build in momentum to show more intensity and volume as the minutes pass. This Barolo wraps thickly over the palate, imparting structure, firmness and density. In Bond€181.00 -

Now with a few months in bottle, Alessandria's 2014 Barolo is a real powerhouse. Smoke, scorched earth, tobacco, menthol, licorice and wild cherry all convey an impression of gravitas, as this potent, muscular Barolo shows off its personality. The 2014 has quite a bit of density and richness at this level. I won't be surprised if it turns out even better than this note suggests. There is so much going on here.In Bond€192.00 -

From one of the stars of Verduno, Fratelli Alessandria, the 2015 Barolo is a beautifully elegant and compact wine at first. Give it a few moments in the glass, and the wine opens beautifully to reveal polished and detailed tones of wild berry, cassis, licorice and tar. All of this is followed by a delicate floral signature of violets and roses that accompany the wine from start to finish. This vintage is elegant yet voluptuous at the same time.In Bond€245.00
