Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (95) Bright ruby red. Perfumed, high-pitched aromas of cherry, minerals, spices and licorice: Cellarmaster Christophe Bouillot describes this as the domain's "upstairs Corton," while the Bressandes is their downstairs version. Precise and fine-grained in the mouth, with lovely mineral and violet high notes lifting the black cherry and licorice flavors. Really saturates the palate without leaving any impression of undue weight. Very long on the aftertaste. More Info

Vinous (91-93) Medium ruby. Black cherry, licorice and crushed stone on the nose, complicated by a smoky nuance. Lusher and broader than the Bressandes but nicely delineated as well, delivering a burst of black cherry fruit. Finishes firmly tannic, focused and subtly long, with terrific energy. Burghound (94) The ripe and ultra-fresh aromas are from the darker side of the fruit spectrum while including plenty of spice, warm earth, menthol and plenty of sauvage character. There is both fine detail and a beguiling texture to the equally broad-shouldered and even more mineral-inflected flavors that possess even better complexity on the balanced and hugely long finish. Unusually, this appears to be just a bit less structured than the Bressandes and should also be approachable on the younger side if that's your preference. More Info
