Lavalle referred to this as ‘Musigny-Chioures,' a testament to its ability to combine elegance and finesse with power and depth of flavour. The fruit is all destemmed and fermented on native yeasts in concrete, with extraction by a gentle combination of pumping over and punching down. There is a bit more presence than the Lamarche, with vibrancy and tension, yet the wine makes a stunning impression with a lovely purity of red and black fruit and incredibly silky texture. |

There's a good chunk near the ch teau as well as a smaller part in Le Grand Maupertui. The 80% new oak stands out now, both with toasted spice lift and lightly grainy tannins. Granted, there's no rush; at the domaine, they don't start drinking this until eight years post-vintage. In time, the robust and concentrated black fruit core will easily absorb the wood. 2028-45 |
