Decanter (97)This compellingly beautiful wine opens with aromas that include a piercing, lemony fruit, salty minerality, chalk, smoke and spice. On the palate, there is a beautiful tension, but also enough substance to give the wine breadth and a lovely, impressive length. It is structured and very crisp, yet still approachable and easy to drink. It was produced from a blend of the lieux-dits Le Cotet and Les Paluets, exclusively fermented in tank. There is immense ageing potential here and you’ll be rewarded for keeping it. |

Wine Advocate (94)Derived principally from the 2021 vintage vinified in tank and complemented by 28% of the 2020 harvest matured in oak, the latest release of the NV Blanc de Blancs Le Cotet originates from the lower-lying, chalkier sector of the vineyard in front of Lassaigne's winery, where scarcely 15 centimeters of topsoil overlay the bedrock. True to style, it also incorporates approximately 10% of already-bottled Champagnes that have been disgorged and reintegrated into tank. Disgorged à la volée in July 2025, it bursts from the glass with scents of nashi pear, lemon oil and green apple, mingling with pastry nuances and framed by youthful reduction. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, incisive and precise, with a crystalline core of fruit and ample extract, underpinned by mouthwatering acidity and culminating in a long, saline finish. |

Vinous (87-89)The 2020 Monthélie Les Champs Fulliot 1er Cru comes from organic purchased fruit. There is touch of a reduction on the nose, touches of cherry liqueur and strawberry, the 30% new oak nicely integrated. The palate is well balanced with supple tannins, slightly lower acidity than some of Parent’s other cuvées with a smooth finish. Will be difficult to resist in its youth. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2020 Pommard Les Rugiens is 100% whole bunch with 50% new oak, from purchased grapes whereby Anne Parent conducts the picking. It has a ripe black cherry and boysenberry scented bouquet with touches of black pepper and clove. The palate is medium-bodied with a succulent entry, quite fleshy and expressive, but here, I am seeking just a little more precision o the finish, like the Les Epenots. |

Burghound (91-93)Outstanding. A much more floral-suffused nose speaks of more elegant aromas of various dark berries, anise and discreet earth wisps. The sleek, intense and precise medium weight flavors possess a beguiling mid-palate texture before concluding in a slightly more complex, balanced and sneaky long finish. Champs Pimont always ages well and there is no reason that this shouldn't do so as well. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru is completely de-stemmed and has a lovely blackberry, briar and mineral-driven bouquet that feels well defined and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, very grippy tannins that lacquer the mouth. This is a bold, assertive Chambertin; what it needs is a little more nuance and precision toward the finish. Maybe that will evolve with time. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru was completely de-stemmed and has an intense bouquet with blackberry, briary, undergrowth and a light floral scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly peppery opening - in fact, you might be deceived into thinking there were some stems in this Chambertin. Fresh, well defined, this feels quite sustained towards the finish with a touch of spice on the aftertaste. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru includes 20% whole bunches this year. It has a slight mintiness on the nose, quite generous if not as complex as the Corton-Bressandes tasted alongside. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, quite strict and fresh with a chalky texture, and a slightly curmudgeonly finish. Give this three to four years in bottle to lighten up. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is matured with 35% whole bunch and 60% new oak. It has a slightly opaque bouquet, closed and not ready to come out and play at this early stage. The palate is grippy on the entry and quite oaky, and the wood tannins feel a little intrusive toward the finish. Hopefully this will meld together with bottle age, but this year I prefer the Corton-Bressandes tasted alongside. |
