The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and minerally, fine definition with a sustained, lightly spiced finish. (this fruit was picked later than the Vigne au Saint and was vinified with 10% whole clusters): Bright red with ruby tones. Distinctly wilder on the nose than the Vigne au Saint, offering scents of cherry, raspberry and animal fur. At once juicier and deeper, displaying terrific flavor intensity and inner-mouth perfume but kept tight by sound underlying minerality.
