The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, just a dab of sour lemon and orange rind, quite peppery in style with a bravura finish. The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has quite a heavy reduction on the nose, although it seems proportionate to the fruit behind it. The palate is quite reductive but there is balance here, a silver thread of acidity lightly spiced with a dab of stem ginger and lemongrass towards the finish. The palate is well balanced with a slightly tangy, marmalade-tinged opening, fine depth and a lovely pithy core of fruit. It has a more composed and complex bouquet compared to others in this flight, with a little more crushed stone, blood oranges and light quince aromas developing in the glass. Impressive delineation and the oak is seamlessly integrated. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, just a dab of sour lemon and orange rind, quite peppery in style with a bravura finish. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. There is just a thin veil of oak to be assimilated, but I appreciate the ripe almond and walnut-tinged finish that lingers in the mouth. The palate is well balanced with a waxy texture, modest weight with lemon curd, lemon thyme and Clementine towards the finish.
