Cote Rotie
The concept of blending some white grape into red wine is now widely used worldwide. Serving the purpose to add extra perfume and aromas to the wine, it was originated in Côte-Rôtie. Whether Viognier supplements the Syrah or not, these are the most elegant wines in the Rhône, it is silky and refined, with different styles made from the sandy Côte Blonde and the irony clay Côte Brune.

A vibrant mineral nuance adds energetic lift to sappy boysenberry, blackberry spicecake and violet pastille flavors that deepen and spread out slowly on the back half. Shows wonderful energy for its heft and finishes on a gently tannic note, displaying sharp delineation and emphatic mineral thrust. |

Wine Advocate (94)The 2017 Cote Rotie Domaine des Pierrelles is full-bodied but exceedingly elegant, with silky, fine-grained tannins. Charming notes of violets, raspberries and black olives lead the way, backed by hints of dried spices and mocha, finishing long. It's a complex and compelling example of Cote Rotie, and it's great to see all of the Jaboulet team's hard work in the vineyards paying off. |

The concept of blending some white wine in to red to bring added perfume is now widely used worldwide, but it was in Cote Rotie where the concept originated. Whether Viognier supplements the Syrah or not, these are the most elegant wines in the Rhone, silky and refined, with different styles made from the sandy Cote Blonde and the irony clay Cote Brune.
