Shows good texture for the vintage but today the strong licorice element dominates the wine's fruit. Finishes quite peppery, with slightly tough tannins. Wine Advocate (88-90)
The 2014 Beaune 1er Cru Grèves was fully destemmed. It has an earthy, damp woodland-scented bouquet that infiltrates the red berry fruit, perhaps just a little rustic for a Beaune Grèves, but full of character. The palate is medium-bodied with good density and edgy red fruit with earthy tones coming through on the slightly conservative finish. I probably just prefer the Beaune Perrières this year.In Bond€115.00 -

The 2016 Beaune 1er Cru Greves was matured in 20% new oak with one-third whole cluster fruit. It has a perfumed bouquet with blackberry, red cherries and iris aromas, the terroir here more expressive than the Perrieres for the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, the oak lending a little more depth than the other Beaune premier crus; there's sinew on the finish. Give this 3 or 4 years in bottle.In Bond€616.00 -
Vinous (91-93)
The 2017 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru has a harmonious bouquet with ample ripe Morello cherry, strawberry and raspberry preserve aromas, a hint of vanilla in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little more compact than the Les Perrières and with more girth towards the grippy finish. As such, give this more bottle age because it is a fine Beaune Grèves.In Bond€648.00
