Vinous (88-90)The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a taut, crisp bouquet with scents of wet limestone, sea spray and green apple. There is fine delineation here, and more intensity than I was anticipating for a Village Cru. The palate is well balanced with subtle passion fruit and citrus notes on the entry, good weight in the mouth and fine acidity, though not as complex on the finish as other Village Crus I have tasted from Leflaive. Therefore I suspect this will be ideal for early drinking. |

Vinous (91)The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Village, matured in 15% new oak, has an intense bouquet with cold flint and sea cave aromas that you would guess come from a much cooler growing season. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a touch of bitter lemon and a dab of spice towards the cohesive and quite persistent finish. Very long. Closure: Diam 30 |

Burghound (90-92)Outstanding. A markedly more floral-suffused nose features notes of cool Granny Smith apple, citrus and a touch of mineral reduction. The caressing, delicious and plump but agreeably energetic medium-bodied flavors possess solid depth and persistence on the balanced, firm and highly refreshing finale. This is also excellent for its level and a wine that should drink well after only 3 to 4 years of keeping but age gracefully for a decade. Recommended. |

Wine Advocate (94)The 2009 Corton-Charlemagne is a huge wine, but like all of Lalou Bize’s 2009s, the whites are taking longer to recover from their bottling than the reds. There is plenty of depth and richness in the glass, but this still needs a few years in bottle to come together. Smoke, spices and wet stones frame the intense finish. Anticipated maturity: 2019+. |

Vinous (92)The 2014 Corton-Charlemagne is massively reduced, as these wines often are at this stage. Orchard fruit, lemon peel, mint and crushed rocks give the wine its tense and overall energy. It's hard to say how much of the reduction will eventually disappear. |

James Suckling (97)This has beautiful purity with striking aromas of lemons and limes, as well as fresh yellow grapefruit and a strong, wet-stone edge. The palate has immense power with precision and focus, delivering a long and regal finish with such power and length. Three hectares in Corton with 1.8 planted to white grapes. Try from 2022. |
