Wine Advocate (90-92)The 2014 Meursault Clos du Cromin, which includes old vines planted in 1927 and young vines planted in 2000, has a delightful bouquet that is understated at first, coquettish and reluctantly revealing yellow plum, cold granite and flinty notes, more Puligny-like than Meursault at the moment. The palate is very well defined with a keen thread of acidity, well-poised fresh lime, green apple and a touch of gooseberry towards the persistent finish. This is a superb expression of this village cru. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2020 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru has a fresh, vivacious nose with wet limestone scents filtering through the green apple and citrus aromas. The palate is very well balanced, linear and Puligny-like, and quite strict and penetrating, leading to a citrus-fresh finish. I can just imagine this with some fresh oysters! Very fine. |

Vinous (92+)Bright green-tinged yellow. Fresh apricot, white peach and hints of exotic fruits on the nose. Fat, rich and powerful, displaying a slight medicinal aspect and a muscular reserve today in spite of its considerable mid-palate sweetness. Very backward, youthfully aggressive Batard, with a bit of oaky dryness on the back end. |

Vinous (95+)Bright straw-yellow. Very ripe but youthfully subdued nose offers scents of fresh apricot, clove and linden tea. Dense, ripe and extremely rich, showing a Montrachet-like iodiney aspect. Silky in texture but with racy acidity giving the mid-palate superb cut. Finishes with a menthol element, great energy and a tannic quality. The combination of plush texture, saline minerality and bracing acidity suggest that this baby will benefit from eight to ten years of cellaring. |

Vinous (95)The 2018 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru sees no new oak and is aged instead in one and two-year-old 350-litre barrels. It has a gorgeous bouquet with lemon curd, nectarine and crushed rock aromas, very seductive even at this premature stage. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, fresh and crisp with an almost graphite tinged finish. So much nervosité is coiled up in this Bâtard - it will give 20-30 years of drinking pleasure. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-98)Mid lemon yellow. The nose is quite hard to tease out. Some apples a suggestion of power, which really comes out on the palate. Almost a bit heated, almost too much. I am sure this will come together but not quite showing today. You can see there is much more though. Powerful white fruit. Some ripe citrus starts to appear at the back. This is a sleeper which may very well deliver a great deal more than I am giving it now. |

Vinous (95-97)The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, which is one of the first picked to capture the acidity, comprises just one barrel this year (one year old). It has a very intense bouquet, quite mineral-driven with limestone and sea spray scents, just a subtle reduction on the background. The palate has exquisite balance, fresh on the entry, rather deep with plenty of substance and slightly pithy towards the finish. There is a lot in this Bâtard-Montrachet, and it has impressive persistence. This is one of the standouts from the Grand Cru in this traumatic season - some achievement. |
