Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-91)Made up from 16 different plots. A pale lemon colour. The nose is undemonstrative but one senses the concentration behind. Indeed, the fruit builds to the back of the palate with a little ripe citrus and correct acidity. Fine length, a little more interest than the very capable Puligny. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted: November 2023. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-97)5 Star Wine. This special bottling comes from the top left corner of their holding. Mid lemon yellow. A sense of intensity rather than the detail up front. The wood is entirely integrated. Four barrels, out of 40 overall in Genevrières. (2 out of 13 in 2024). Two minutes in the glass and the highest class of very pure white fruit emerges. A stunning purity and subtlety before a raft of power., assisted by the age of the vines (50+) as well as the terroir. Will still be tasting this when I reach Beaune! Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Oct 2024. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-95)Some light green reflections in the primrose yellow colour. A stricter nose, perhaps a touch of sulphur. This may also appear more backward coming after the Charmes. Then a vast wealth of fruit on the palate and now we see the real wine. It maintains the herbal note I associate with Genevrières, alongside golden fruit at a perfect degree of ripeness. The fruit and the acidity weave in and out of each other. I would not want the fruit to be riper but it is full of charm as it stands, and kept in place by the precision of the structure. Very fine. Drink from 2029-2037. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-96)Mid yellow, with a really beautiful succulent nose, picked at perfect ripeness, and not hiding the delicacy and detail of fine Genevrières. Some lime, some verbena, delicate fresh apples, back to the lime blossom, then a really fine boned framework on the palate. Tingles the tastebuds in the most delicious way. A beautifully crafted 2023 Genevrières. Drink from 2029-2037. Tasted Oct 2024. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)Mid lemon yellow. The bouquet has a little softer orchard fruit compared to the Bourgogne, and is very true to its Meursault roots. The white fruit continues on the palate and is now joined by a saline note, while the ripe apples give an immediate appeal. There are little waves of flavour towards the back of the palate. Once again the aftertaste is fine, precise and thoroughly promising. Drink from 2027-2032. |

Vinous (90)The 2020 Meursault Sous Le Dos d'Ane offers traces of orchard fruit, hints of linseed and hazelnut, nicely focused and gains intensity in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a slightly tangy entry, hints of orange rind and fresh pear and moderate depth with a tensile and slightly pithy finish. |

Wine Advocate (92+)The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos d'Ane exhibits aromas of pear, white flowers, freshly baked bread and stuck match, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and racy palate that's pure and precise, concluding with a chalky finish. As readers may remember, this parcel, formerly planted to red, abuts Pierre Morey's Meursault Perrières, and the soils are very stony. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)What a wealth of fruit is there, plus a streak of nervous energy, this is very well done. Always late to pick here but it hasn’t disturbed the fresh energy while optimising the fruit volume. Very good indeed. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2024. |
