Vinous (92-94)The 2021 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru needs a little more cohesion on the nose, and I was expecting a little more power to come through. I suspect that I just caught this on an off day. The palate is better with fine cohesion and acidity, decent depth with orange zest and spice. Very harmonious and persistent on the finish - I suspect this will open up beautifully once in bottle, but for me, it is shaded by the Les Clos at the premature juncture. |

Wine Advocate (97+)An example of purity and stony tension, Vincent Dauvissat’s 2022 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses is the crowning achievement of an extraordinary portfolio. With an understated Chablisien character, it opens in the glass to reveal a marine bouquet of oyster shell and iodine mingling with lemon zest and white flowers. Refined and laden with incisive acids, an abundance of chalky structuring extract and with a persistent, searingly saline finish, it is more ethereal and elegant than Les Clos yet possesses all the prerequisites to age as gracefully—provided the cork holds. |

Wine Advocate (97)As one might reasonably anticipate, the 2023 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses follows a more understated trajectory than Les Clos yet is no less profound. Its bouquet unfurls layers of sea breeze, spring flowers and orange peel mingling with iodine and flint. The medium- to full-bodied palate is filigreed and laser-focused, built around a crisp core of fruit and propelled by racy acidity toward a long, saline finale. Elegant and ethereal, it promises a long and broad enjoyment window. |

Vinous (88)Reticent aromas of menthol and mint. Fat and sweet in the mouth; more open-knit today than the 2014 but still showing good flavor definition and a touch of menthol austerity. Finishes with a bracing white grapefruit quality and lovely restrained sweetness. Transcends its appellation and reveals virtually no evidence of compromised grape skins. |

Vocoret Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2021 epitomises the excellence of Burgundy’s renowned Chablis region. Cultivated in the esteemed Vaillons vineyard, this premier cru benefits from the region’s unique Kimmeridgian limestone soils, imparting a distinctive minerality to the wine. Maison Vocoret, a distinguished producer with a legacy of artisanal viticulture, meticulously harvests hand-selected Chardonnay grapes to ensure optimal quality. The winemaking process entails careful fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine’s fresh acidity and vibrant fruit character. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes ageing on fine lees, enhancing its complexity and texture without overpowering its natural elegance. The 2021 vintage presents a brilliant pale gold hue, with an aromatic bouquet of white flowers, citrus nuances, and subtle hints of flint. On the palate, it delivers a harmonious balance of crisp acidity and refined minerality, culminating in a long, graceful finish. Vocoret Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2021 is an exceptional choice for connoisseurs seeking sophistication and terroir-driven character in their fine wine collection. |

Decanter (92)William Fevre own 46ha of AP Chablis but there was lots of frost damage in 2021 - the yield was just 18hl/ha! Lovely floral notes here, very precise and focussed. This is already appealing although the acidity is certainly evident. Lingering spice notes on the finish. From a tank sample, with bottling due in November. Drink from next year and for many years. |

Decanter (93)Distinct shellfish notes. Plenty of volume, a fleshy sunny character on the palate, freshened by lingering salinity to finish. Top example of AP Chablis in 2022. From 40ha of vines, with three distinct plots, including one from a lovely vineyard to the east around Viviers, with vines planted in the 1960s, but all of the vines have plenty of age. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)Located at the very start of Troesmes, 55 to 60 year old vines. Fine fresh lemon yellow. A clean and elegant fruit forward nose, lighter in style than most 1ers crus, hence its place in the line-up. Youthful bitters again, then a serene follow through, pure and precise. Fine elegant finish. Drink from 2026-2031. Tasted: June 2023. |

Wine Advocate (91)A step up in tension, the 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy, sourced from a high-maturity site planted with 60-year-old vines, delivers notes of white flowers, pear, peach and honeysuckle. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and textural, the palate is lively and charming. A notably sunny terroir, Beauroy—like Vaillons and Vaudésir—is harvested on the early side to preserve balance and freshness. |

Jancis Robinson (17)Very creamy on the nose, marked by the lees and gentle oak. Fresh citrus and almost something floral, like blossom, as well as stony/mineral character. Rich, deep and lively. Generous with a good acid backbone, even if it is a little softer than the Vaillons. (JH) |
