Tim Atkin MW (94)Focused, bright and pretty, this is a savory, even saline, wine. There's an attractive leesiness on the nose followed by ample yellow fruits on the generous, juicy palate. Plums, sweet apples and cherries mesh on the long finish. I always find this wine delightful. 2022-28 |

Vinous (88-90)The 2021 Vougeot 1er Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot was fairly reduced on the nose when tasted at the domaine and difficult to read. The palate is balanced with commendable weight and touches of tropical fruit with decent length, though surprisingly, given the vintage, it just needs a little more tension on the finish. |

Vrignaud Chablis Cotes Fontenay Fourchaume 2022 epitomises the exquisite craftsmanship of Domaine Vrignaud. Cultivated in the renowned Côtes Fontenay Fourchaume vineyard, this Chablis is meticulously vinified using sustainable viticulture practices. Handpicked Chardonnay grapes undergo cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve their vibrant acidity and delicate citrus notes. The wine is aged in neutral oak barrels, allowing the mineral-rich terroir to shine through without overpowering the fruit profile. On the palate, it reveals layers of green apple, lemon zest, and subtle flint, culminating in a crisp, lingering finish. The 2022 vintage showcases optimal ripeness and balance, reflecting the dedication of the Vrignaud family to producing exceptional fine wines. Perfect for pairing with seafood, poultry, or simply savoured on its own, this wine stands as a testament to the elegance and precision of Chablis craftsmanship. |

Vrignaud Chablis Vaupulans 2022 epitomises the refined elegance of Burgundy’s esteemed Chablis region. Crafted by the renowned Vrignaud estate, this Chardonnay is meticulously sourced from the Vaupulans vineyard, distinguished by its Kimmeridgian limestone soil which imbues the wine with remarkable minerality. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo a precise cold fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve their vibrant acidity and delicate fruit nuances. Minimal oak ageing ensures the wine retains its pure, unadulterated character, while a brief lees contact enhances its texture and complexity. The 2022 vintage displays a luminous pale gold hue, with enticing aromas of green apple, citrus zest, and subtle floral notes, underpinned by a hint of flint. On the palate, Vrignaud Chablis Vaupulans 2022 offers a crisp, balanced finish with a lingering minerality, making it an exceptional choice for connoisseurs seeking authenticity and finesse in every sip. |

Decanter (92)William Fevre own 46ha of AP Chablis but there was lots of frost damage in 2021 - the yield was just 18hl/ha! Lovely floral notes here, very precise and focussed. This is already appealing although the acidity is certainly evident. Lingering spice notes on the finish. From a tank sample, with bottling due in November. Drink from next year and for many years. |

Decanter (93)Distinct shellfish notes. Plenty of volume, a fleshy sunny character on the palate, freshened by lingering salinity to finish. Top example of AP Chablis in 2022. From 40ha of vines, with three distinct plots, including one from a lovely vineyard to the east around Viviers, with vines planted in the 1960s, but all of the vines have plenty of age. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-92)The domaine’s holdings cover 38 ha, and the various cuvées have just been blended, and will stay on lees through to December. Pale lemon yellow. An entrancing bouquet, on the sunnier side but with a mineral undercurrent. Sherbet on the palate along with citrus, good concentration, and an evenly balanced finish. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted Jun 2024. |

Wine Advocate (91)A step up in tension, the 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy, sourced from a high-maturity site planted with 60-year-old vines, delivers notes of white flowers, pear, peach and honeysuckle. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and textural, the palate is lively and charming. A notably sunny terroir, Beauroy—like Vaillons and Vaudésir—is harvested on the early side to preserve balance and freshness. |

Decanter (95)Fèvre has three parcels in Montée de Tonnerre (its purest, most mineral premier cru): Chapelot, Pied d'Aloup and Côte de Bréchain, all facing different ways. Very precise, crystalline fruits, salinity, great acidity and a long, long finish. Will age beautifully, but great now. |

Decanter (95)A stunning example, with finesse allied to power. Real tension and energy here. Will be approachable quite young, but really should be aged for over five years for the best result. Fèvre has 2.24ha within Montée de Tonnerre. Plots are located in Pied d'Aloup (facing east) with profound Kimmeridgian soils bringing freshness, Chapelot facing south on deep soil adding richness, and Côte de Brechain facing west on top of the hill with the oldest plots dating back to 1936. |
