Vinous (90-92)The 2020 Meursault Luchets shows the more extroverted style of the year nicely. Creamy and beautifully layered, the Luchets is redolent of pear, apricot, dried flowers, chamomile and mint that envelop the palate effortlessly. The Luchets is so inviting, even in the very early going. A burst of mineral and stony notes lend freshness on the close. The 2020 is impressive and so promising. (Tasted by Antonio Galloni) |

Guy Roulot Meursault Luchets 2022 epitomises the refined elegance of Burgundy’s esteemed terroirs. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes cultivated in the prestigious Luchets vineyard in Meursault, this vintage showcases Guy Roulot’s unwavering commitment to quality and expression of place. Meticulously hand-harvested and gently pressed, the grapes undergo fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and French oak vats, preserving their innate purity while imparting subtle complexity. The wine is then aged for twelve months in a selective proportion of new oak barrels, enhancing its depth and structure without overshadowing its delicate minerality. The 2022 harvest benefited from a favourable climate, resulting in grapes of exceptional ripeness and balance. The resulting wine presents a luminous golden colour, with aromatic notes of ripe peach, citrus zest, and hints of toasted almond. On the palate, it delivers a harmonious blend of richness and precision, culminating in a long, elegant finish. Guy Roulot Meursault Luchets 2022 is a quintessential expression for the discerning connoisseur. ``` |

Burghound (86-89)A super-fresh nose freely reveals its aromas of ripe red and dark berries trimmed in ample earth nuances. The rich and seductively textured middleweight flavors possess solid size and weight before concluding in a long if moderately rustic finale. This is a quality effort for its level |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-90)10% new wood, about to be bottled. The Bourgogne offers a heavenly nose right from the start. All about the fruit which has a darker edge to it. The stem side gives a real tingle. Now some dark red cherries in the fruit. Salty notes at the very back. A tannin or two to finish. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted: November 2023. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)The 2019 Chorey-lès-Beaune Les Bons Ores is shaping up very nicely, unfurling with aromas of raspberries, sweet berries and plums complemented by hints of rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's fleshy and charming, with fine depth at the core and a seamless, elegant profile. I can't think of many wines from this appellation operating at this level. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)Aromas of plums, wild berries, warm spices and cherries preface the 2020 Chorey-lès-Beaune Les Bons Ores, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine that's textural and giving, with a deep core of fruit and ripe, powdery tannins.\\ |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (88-91)Last to be picked, with plenty of rot to sort out. A deeper purple than the Bourgogne. Marvellous density of deep raspberry fruit. Generous and very pure, with some black raspberry fruit, luscious more than precise but a wine it will be easy to fall in love with. Drink from 2024-2027. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-92)(5 Star Wine) 10% new wood, about to be bottled. A similar rich crimson purple colour. A savoury and stylish deep red fruit on the nose, with spice behind. A pretty fantastic example of Chorey with life and depth, dark cherry fruit. Excellent tension, I think this will be gorgeous. Long, fine and sensual. Drink from 2026-2030. Tasted: November 2023. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)5 Star Wine. A huge amount was rejected on the sorting table, 14 barrels worth deselected against 30 barrels made. Typical Guyon fanaticism. An even purple colour, redcurrant and dark raspberry, the whole bunches are better integrated here than in the Bourgogne, with an incredible red fruit sensuality. 15% new wood. Superb balance. Drink from 2026-2030. Tasted Nov 2024. |

Vinous (87)The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is noticeably deeper in color than its peers. The bouquet is quite showy and gregarious, featuring copious black cherry, liquorish and light furniture polish scents. The new oak is too forward for my own preference. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little drier and more conservative than I hoped, and there is a bitter residue on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. |

Vinous (95)The 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a more intense nose than Berthaut-Gerbet's, offering black cherry, briar, smoke and crushed stone aromas with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, plenty of black cherry and blueberry fruit, fine volume and a touch of white pepper toward the finish. This actually grows in the glass. It might be too modern in style for those seeking traditional Pinot Noir, but I love it. Proper Grand Cru. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. |

Wine Advocate (94-96)Opening in the glass with notes of sweet plums, warm spices, raw cocoa, loamy soil and wild berries, Guyon's 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with superb depth at the core, rich and powdery tannins and lively balancing acids. Long and resonant, this is a superb proposition for the long haul. This derives from an old-vine parcel just below the Château, next to Jean-Nicolas Méo's holdings. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-97)Only 30% decorticated as this was the last picked and the team had had enough – but makes an interesting contrast with the others. More purple than black in colour. Still has some rose petals which cannot be common in Clos Vougeot! Super deep with some liquorice behind where the fruit darkens, but up front and on the nose it is more dark raspberry and redcurrant. Not quite so fine tannins when not fully decorticated, it would seem. But a huge follow through. If it were not for the utter brilliance of the Echezeaux, I might score this even higher! Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-98)5 Star Wine. A rich dark purple. The nose is astonishing because of its definition. It is a slightly darker and certainly less lushly appealing style. Peppery notes are in balance but the volume of fruit surmounts. This is a fine and very noble example which could well leap ahead of the 2020 in the rankings. There is such a wealth of fruit, on the cusp of red and black, which returns in the very long finish. Bravo. Drink from 2030-2040. |
