The palate is surfeit with energy and just a very slight reduction. Hints of tropical fruit (passion fruit and pineapple) emerge toward the finish. This leans slightly to the exotic side but in a positive way. This will be very seductive. In Bond€4,240.00 -

Pretty pale lemon, very clean. The vineyards, both above the main road, are Femelottes and Rue de Bois which will be separated in 2021. Clean pure and chiselled with significant volume, a little bit of barrel. Good grip here, most attractive. Tasted: October 2021In Bond€208.00 -

From fruit sourced externally from the family. Pale lemon colour with a minimal reductive gunflint. There is a very classical thread of pure white stone fruit on the palate, medium intensity at the finish, fine length. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Oct 2024.In Bond€2,210.00 -

The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a pretty nose of lime flower, lemon and orange pith scents that is well defined and focused, improving in the glass. The palate is rounded in texture but lacks a bit of acidity, attractive in terms of its texture, yet the finish misses some energy and tension. I was never quite taken with this cuvée after bottling vis-à-vis other cuvées, and that is confirmed here. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. In Bond€1,665.00 -

The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from the Pernot family, from vines situated on the Pernand side. This is very aromatic and complex on the nose, with white flowers infusing yellow fruit, hints of brioche and grilled almond. The palate is very well balanced with wonderful poise, a citric thread of acidity and attractive salinity. This is one of the best Corton-Charlemagne wines that I tasted during my weeks in Burgundy. It is far superior to the 2022.In Bond€746.00 -

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Clos des Folatières 1er Cru is showing quite a lot of reduction on the nose: grilled walnut, smoke, dried honey and a light malty note. It seems a bit evolved, possibly with some mercaptans. The palate is medium-bodied with a tangy entry. Plenty of extract, though what is missing is tension and sapidity on the finish. Enjoyable now, but where will this be in five years' time? Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. In Bond€1,130.00
